Because people say that ‘modern music sucks’ and refuse to listen to something good from these days. In my opinion Ty is better than quite a few 70s bands.

To be fair to the people hating on the drummer, the sound tech, the lighting people, whoever dressed Ty.....that was not by any stretch their best performance. Rather than hate on everyone around the band just accept that some days even gifted people just want to kick back and watch family guy with a beer. I just dont think they were "in the mood" to rock. They just wanted to get the performance done so they could go do something else. We have all been there.

I don't get why people are people are shitting on the drummer. This is Ty's sound, it's not bombastic, it doesn' warrant a wild drummer. The subtle drumming totally fits the song. Fuzzy garage rock doesn't need Bam Bam on the kit.

Wolfatadoor .... have you even listened to the album version of Feel? I think Ty would disagree with you that the drumming doesn't matter because he obviously puts a lot of time and attention into it. And his drumming is worlds better than Emily's. She should at least be able to play the song correctly.

SpookyApparition I mean...Ty's very particular with his sound I'm sure if he wanted it to sound different he would've replaced her a long time ago. or at least asked her to play differently

Skypup he DID replace her, lol. Not too long after this performance actually. Pretty clear his stuff was getting too ambitious for her to handle.

SpookyApparition Emily has been playing with Ty since 2009 more or less, and left because she and Charlie (the guitarist here) broke up. It's not because she's not talented or anything

+PMurray2694 that's what I thought. I'm really liking this, and I think the "less wild" drummer gives a good overall balance.. it gives more space for Ty. And whenever I see people criticizing this drummer, I think "I'm sure Ty can choose from a vast selection of drummer if he wishes". I know I'd be ready to drum for him in a second.

Drummer on the Muggers tour was sick, and Charles is awesome now. I likes Emily as part of the live Ty Segall sound for that era, but there's no denying the two guys after her were massive improvements and have helped take Ty to the next level.
