Davie,You make it look so easy! The mark of a great teacher is that he leaves his pupil feeling that he could do that. You can do it every time Davie! Superb instructional videos. A real treat to have them available free. Many thanks.

Davie. That's a really good looking fly. Those exact colors are a fish favorite where I mainly fish.

Crackin wee fly Davie. Of course you make everything look so easy. I would love to someday tie as neatly as you. I am getting there. I go back and fix whatever I don't like about a fly. I had trouble wanting to do that at first because I called it a triumph if I could remember all the ingredients and get them on the hook in a good proportion. I am getting better with practice. I don't get as much time at the bench as I like but I am doing ok for someone that started less than three years ago. You must be getting tired of hearing from me. But I am like a bad penny I will keep showing up as long as you are sharing patterns. All the best for a fantastic New Year for you, your family, and friends. Sean

Hi Sean, Happy New Year to you as well and that you have a great 2015....I'm glad that you are enjoying tying and that you are giving most of the flies I tye a go, some can be a bit of work as I do have to watch what I'm doing as I can easily get the proportions wrong myself... All the very best Davie

First of all Happy New Year Davie to you and your family. Great looking fly there mate. Was wondering if you might know where a person could get some vintage tinsel for tying classic salmon flies. Thanks for sharing all the videos that you do. You have been a very big help to me and others. Thanks for being here my friend. Best Regards, Ken

Hi Ken, Happy New Year to you and your family as well and all the very best for 2015... I wish I could help you with the tinsel but as I haven't been tying many classic style flies over the last few years I haven't been in touch with anyone selling any materials for these flies. If I do see someone selling any tinsels I'll certainly let you know.... All the very best Davie

Very very nice again Davie! How far away would the hinging fly be??? Many thanks again, Emmet from Co Antrim!
@DavieMcPhail9 жыл бұрын
Hi Emmet, I would normally hang a fly about 18 inches and even deeper depending on the water I'm fishing from the fly but I'll fish it as close as 12 inches keeping the wet or nymph close to the surface when the hatch is in full swing... All the very best davie
