In the old Frontier Anglers catalog, out of Dillon MT (when I owned it) there is a knot called the Conley Loop. The same knot only twice through. Breaking strength is right at 99%, I tested it a ton of times. Less material used. This is the only knot I use for bones, permit and streamer fishing and have used it for over 40 years.

A great knot I'm sure from a fishing legend. Now how about a video that actually shows you how to tie the knot?

Am I the only one who wished that Steve was not wearing a white shirt as I was list due to lack of contrast? These old eyes are not what they once were, I enjoyed the figure 8 knot as this was infinitely easier to follow

Great knot, but not very clear on the video

As with a lot of KZfaq videos that show different knots being tied, this one is almost impossible to follow because the viewer can’t see the line. Also, the tying of the knot as described by the presenter is virtually incomprehensible. My suggestion for all knots would be 1) first tie the knot with a suitable material say, rope, cord, I.e something that the viewer can see but doesn’t require any dexterity when the viewer tries it 2) then tie the knot using a material that is still visible to the viewer but now needs to be tied with a reasonable degree of dexterity, e.g large diameter mono 3) finally there is no need to tie the knot using the proper materials because the viewer can’t see them on the screen !!

So is this called the "Double Figure 8?"

looks to me that you dont really cars if the peolple learn or not learn your knot....slow down
