Hi Davie, I really like the look of this Tenkara style dry fly you have tied. It appears so natural and you can see it will float in the surface film just right and present very well for the trout. Definitely going to give this pattern a go, regards, Wayne

Have not been able to tie a Tenkara to my liking but this tie will make everything a lot easier - thanks a lot. BTW these work extremely well as they "breathe" going through the water with little or no movement of the rod

Davie, if you are truly interested in learning about Tenkara flies and the principles behind the types of hackle/direction they face and the types of techniques they are designed for, I highly recommend the ebook "Discovering Kebari" by the Discover Tenkara guys. There's a lot more to Tenkara flies than just reverse hackle. Most traditional Japanese flies don't use the reverse hackle. It's a pretty quick read and has some great information. I hope you give it a bit of your time.

You make this look easy! I love this style of fly. I was out of Fly Fishing for a while, then Tenkara comes along. Its a new interest. I could not wrap a soft hackle till I saw your tie. You are the best! Thanks! Jim

Thank you for your appreciation. A question that has nothing to do with this fly: do you know where I could get Jamison Barbless Hooks, having come across these hooks quite a few years ago and which I find really great for mounting nymphs in smaller sizes as well as streamers in larger sizes? Thank you for your help and bravo to the videos, thanks to them, I made a lot of progress in fly tying. Greetings.

Hi Yves Sultan, I do know of the hook but I have never came across any as it's quite a rare hook especially here in the uk though I could be wrong...I will certainly keep an eye out for some for you..Thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed the video... All the very best Davie

@@DavieMcPhail Hello, thank you first of all for your likes on my comments. I allow myself to send youformula of a personal dry fly, fly that I use first on any river that I do not know and which has been proven on all the rivers and reservoirs that I have practiced. I called it "La Passe-Partout". Here is the formula: - fine iron dry fly hook N ° 14-16 - body in gray dubbing of wild rabbit hair or hare mask surrounded by a fine copper tinsel - collar of 2 or 3 turns of partridge feather, the fibers of which are slightly folded towards the rear. This fly fishing very low, even in the film, does not imitate anything special and often catches fish where more precise models do not work. Thank you in advance for your criticisms and suggestions. If you need a photo of it, can you tell me where I can send it ? Thanks. Kindly Yves sultan

Hi Davie Could you adapt this into a Klinkhamer look-alike for those of us who struggle with tying onto wing posts?

Hi Michael, I have attached a link to a fly that was tyed many years ago and works like a klinkhamer so yes you could adapt this pattern easily to fish like a parachute.. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hMeeZpybsLLbnnk.html All the very best Davie..

Hey Davie, this fly seems to be tied backward. It is good looking but it seems less like a imitation of a bug than the regular flies tied for the fly rod. Is it the same rod too. I know nothing about Tenkara. Busy learning and perfecting the flies you usually tie. All the best and God bless you and your family. Sean
