Tyler, I just finished the podcast which caught me of guard by the heartfelt grief I felt for John which resulted in a long cry. He was so fascinating and had the possible mercury poisoning not altered his perception or if not that, he found the strength to endure his demons, I believe the podcast would have helped him see the virtues he had to offer this world and experienced the opportunities it surly would have provided he otherwise would not have explored on his own. His friendship was such a gift that I hope all he shared will be a driving force in the choices you make to have the most fulfilling life in his honor. He would have wanted that for you. Thanks for sharing your touching tribute.

So sad, now this is a tribute to them both. A tragic ending to a sad story. I think your comment is spot on though, the podcast may have given John the motivation to do something that would have given him the will to live. Although I lived close, I never knew either of these fellows which breaks my heart now that they’re both gone on.

Great song choice; the lyrics are sadly perfect. Hope your friend is at peace now, Tyler.

Just finished the S-Town podcast. John was one hell of a cool and interesting guy. I enjoyed listening to him and at times he had me laughing my ass off. I wish I could have met him. My condolences to you guys. There’s no doubt John B loved y’all like family.

I have had so many weird instances with law enforcement just passing through wood stock all my life on the way to Birmingham…that I know what he meant when says S town. I’m glad people are getting to appreciate the brilliant characters here in the south through the medium of podcasts.
