"Credit Vlasic for jumping in right there." Why? It was a clean hit, and Vlasic didn't do anything other than fall down. It was unnecessary, and he didn't accomplish anything. Other than waste everyone's time. What exactly should we be giving him credit for?

You can tell how little effect "sticking up" for Bedard has when a Blues player just skates right up to his face while the fight is happening and chirps him lol

I called this from Bedard’s first day in the NHL. This guy is going to get destroyed if he doesn’t avoid contact more effectively than he has. He’s smaller than the average player which makes him on the losing end of almost all contact.

How big was Sydney Crosby as an 18 year old rookie? I’ll give you a hint, the same size as Bedard. The kid will have to figure it out. He took a good thump and was right back on his feet. And I’m tired when players have to fight after a clean hit. Vlasic should have got 4 minutes roughing and Tucker shouldn’t have got anything.

Tired of the bullshit lately in the NHL. Perfectly clean hits guarantee a fight. Why? Add that to all the headlocks and face grabs after the whistle that would be a penalty if the play were still going on. What's next? High sticking is fine if it is after the whistle??

Bedard is an amazing talent he missed 6 weeks and is still like 15 points ahead of closest rookie averaging a point per game so that's excellent. Although he does need to be much more aware I could see that hit coming as soon as he hit the blue line..he needs to assume he's going to get hit everytime he touches the puck it was so obvious on that play I think he was the only one in the building that didn't see it coming. You have to protect yourself at all times especially someone his size..hopefully he develops that awareness because it's not something that you can really teach. He seems to do well with skating with his head up so that'll help but his head was down on that play and opponent came from the side although had he looked left at any point he would have known dude was there..its his first year theres still a lot to learn and develop hopefully he can avoid those hits..

I can see Bedard being out of the league in two years... lot of no names trying to make a name for themselves, it was a needless hit. NHL does nothing about it. Not sure why.

@@shoemakerluis He wasn't in a scoring position, he was no threat, he was getting rid of the puck, he was surrounded by two Blues,he couldn't go anywhere. Chicago isn't fighting for a playoff position just behind/ahead of the Blues. Chicago is getting trounced. Just pure ego on behalf of Tucker. Simple as that. Could have just rubbed him out, but no, had to try and put him in the front row... like other d-men have done this year. (Go ahead, tell me "it's obvious you've never played high caliber hockey before") and you'd be right, I can't even skate.... I'm used to it.

It was a soft hit. His kind of superstar hockey needs to go. Skating around nobody hitting. That shut needs to end or hockey will not make it. The nhl is losing its audience. For many reasons. Soft superstars not playing physical hockey is not helping. Protectors jumping in after clean hits. Gretzky started this bullshit it needs go back to all around team play.

Maybe some of the rinks haven't been SRO, such as Anaheim, San Jose, Arizona (joke), Buffalo, probably because of lousy teams.... but Dallas, Carolina, Tampa... packed. Advertising up,merch up, stands packed(especially in Canada)... even in Edmonton here, playoff ticket prices will be criminal, it'll be packed. Same in Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg. Not sure where you get the idea that NHL is losing its audience.. (I know, you'll come up with bullshit numbers or a some kind of American "poll"). I'm pretty sure people that know hockey would rather pay money to see McDavid, Mackinnon or Matthews over Rempe, Wilson or Dumba. Have a good night.

It's starting to get old. How jealous do you have to be of one man. That every game someone wants to hurt or end his career. Hockey's a great game but some hits just need to be banned. Football has become the same. You just don't want to make the tackle anymore you also have to try to disable the guy.
