Expedition Opa! members Ima Amundarain and Tyler Karow spent 18 days climbing and eating their way through the Ruth Gorge from 6/7/21 to 6/24/21. This video is a compilation of the routes and meals climbed and consumed on their trip.

I don't think iv'e ever seen a channel more under rated than yours.. Imagine Discovery channel trying to make a show out of this. The show would be a season long, and highlight every single danger 1000 times, with super intense music, huge budget, etc. It's all too casual, how you guys are doing this incredible epic trip. I love watching you guys this is crazy.

Dude you guys are such stars.... and real matte, dang really covered all the bases...thousands of miles, food spreads like a Vegas buffet, and a 5.6 splitter crack as a point of fulfillment.....definitely another great adventure for all of us hacking away back here in the concrete jungle.... thanks for the effort.... viva la cumbre! 🐺👍🧗🏻‍♂️👊😎✅

Great times. I spent a couple weeks on the Ruth and Pika just ski mountaineering and eating big meals. This was a great memory refresher.

Super inspiring! Roughly how much did the trip cost both of you (not including gear)?

About a grand each not including food. The cost was pretty much just one night in a hostel, a couple short taxis, flights and oversized bag fees which we were able to keep relatively low. We hitchhiked around, got rides from friends and stayed with people we met to keep things cheap.

Flew onto the Ruth glacier 40 years ago for McKinley and you really caught the vastness of the whole scene. I just wish we would have ate as well as you. Beautiful video. Congrats

I envy you all wish I was 20 years younger, I was busy overseas doing other adventures but never got into the climbing. I head out on some local adventures closer to home these days

Every route we climbed has established rap stations made up of nuts and pitons. We just had to update the cord and occasionally add nuts

How do you bail from climbs up there? Doesn't look like there are bolts anywhere

Probably leave slings or pitons... As you have seen there is plenty of 5mm knotted stuff on the routes, and if it gets sketchy you cut the old stuff off and throw it away. At least thats how we do it in the alps
