Sir I have a question about the steel ratio formula of T-Beam. bacause i learned that the formula is (Area of steel) over (Width of web)x(effective depth). why is it like that. not (Area of steel)/(effective Area of T-beam)? Thank youu!!!

The stem or web of the T beam is what is in tension. Therefore only the rebar in the stem should be included in the rho calculation.
