Hi Tyler. True story here. When I was about 12 years old I swore at the queen. She was officially opening a new exhibition centre in Manchester called GMEX. I was really excited and so I got there early. Because I was early, I was right at the front of the barricades. She walked right past me. I was so shocked that she looked exactly the same as she did on TV that I said "Oh shit" out loud to myself. I know she heard me, because as soon as I said it, she looked directly at me and smiled. It was as if she was saying to me, "Yep, it's me".

I'm Cypriot origin, but born and raised in the UK. I was in Cyprus 2007 Christmas time for some family business. The thing is though surely that many writers do in fact make up places in their country for their fictional character to live or visit. So unless you live in that country or know that area you're not necessarily going to instantly know that a location is fictional or not. Many TV series both in Britain and America in fact World Wide use fake locations. Yes there are clearly plenty of real locations in fiction too but that only adds to the confusion unless you're from that place and just know. Comedy shows, detective shows, Soaps can in fact often mix fake and real locations into their plots.

When I was in the states as a 14 yr old, I was also asked if Ive met the Queen. I did meet King Charles when I was a child (he was the prince then) as he was at the opening of a block of flats where I live. I was about 9 yrs old and he came over to me, shook my hand and asked why my class was there, and I said all shy “our teacher said we could come and see you”. Then after we spoke, and he turned away, the press jumped on me like a pack of wolves. It was terrifying. They wanted to know everything that was said, word for word. They swarmed me. Ended up in the newspaper for it. But going on with the topic… not exactly a ridiculous question, just something I’ve noticed….I’m sure a good bunch of brits get asked this too.. when in any European country (that’s where I’ve noticed it the most), whenever I’m asked where I’m from, and I say that I’m from just outside of Manchester… the usual thing that follows is “city or united”? The amount of times I’ve been asked that is unbelievable. I don’t follow football!!

His teacher ask me about Charles and Diana. Jokingly I said I knew Charles very well as Charles visited our local country pub frequently (not expecting her to believe me. I am from Liverpool we live on our humor and never to be taken seriously . Before I knew it I had 5 teachers surrounding me asking questions 4 females teachers and 1 male. I told them everybody knew Charles and Camilla where always meeting up in the barn for sex everyone in the village knew it years before it came out. They were hooked line and sinker the more they asked stupid questions the more ridiculous my story went. I'm a commoner from England and I have met the Queen and Charles AND Prince Edward AND Princess Anne AND Princess Alexandria (the Queen's cousin). Not such a dumb question huh?😂 I live in Ireland and I have noticed how odd Americans are when they visit here. One US tourist complained about the beautiful sunny weather and told me it should be raining! Another group of US tourists were truly shocked that irish children were wearing clothes and shoes! They were also shocked that pigs weren't living inside the dirt floor cottages in the 21st century! 😂😂😂 I have a question.... why do Americans speak so loudly and demand special treatment because they're American?

So, there's pro's and cons on both sides. And the same is true with all countries in Europe - they should all be visited - each has something totally unique.

I don't think that makes it ridiculous though. In a country that has no castles and where castles have this romantic image, to just be fascinated is quite understandable. 19:16 castles are pretty common here (theres over 4000). For my history gcse trip they took us to the ruins of an old castle. Forgot the name (think it was folkstone which was norman and made in 11th or 12th century) but i do remember teachers searching for a group of boys who decided to play hide n seek in the ruins of this castle which had SECRET PASSAGES 😂. They were looking for an hour meanwhile the rest of us thought itd be a good idea to roll down the hill, covering ourselves in mud. Needless to say that was our one and only history trip (tbf we were in year 11 and didnt have much time for any other trips) XD

I look at the small box to make sure they can see my face! So we went to the US last year. It was like turning my clock back 20 years! No free Wi-Fi, no instant logging onto various shops internet. No card-less transactions. No information on public transport to let you know when the next bus or train was going to arrive! No online booking for restaurants! No online ordering in Mac Donald brought to your table! Our internet is so much faster than in the US. We normally get 500MBPS download speed and it only costs $38! so you can stream, watch Netflix, play on your Xbox 5 and FaceTime your family all at the same time!

When I as younger I saw the Belgian king, driving himself with the queen next to him, on the ring road with an unmarked security car following them. The royals had the only plates in Belgium starting with AA and I am sure it was them. They do visit every disaster in Belgium to support the people, many saw them from close by or even talked to them. They also visit patients and medics often and talk to them. They are very down to Earth for royalty. The kingship is hereditary but not set in stone. The king I saw caused a constitutional crisis. As a catholic he refused to put his signature on the abortion bill saying he too as every citizen had the right to follow his conscience. People understood and the government mixed two rules they couldn’t constitutionally to depose him, passed the bill as his regent, and reinstated him the next day. A very Belgian solution. They said he was unfit to rule so they become the temporary regent until a successor is appointed. They passed the law as regents but never looked for a successor and just decided he was fit to rule again, all with the approval of the king. He wrote a letter to the people explaining his position and stressing this doesn’t diminish his views of people who have abortions but it was just a question of personal conscience.
