Went there with my friend yesterday to find her great uncle. Was heartbreaking to see all this loss of life

To the left of the cross are the graves of two German soldiers who manned a machine gun post that still exists within the plinth of the cross. They were killed by a flamethrower after they refused to surrender. The British lads were so impressed by their bravery they insisted they be buried close to where they died. Alan Lowe.

Have been there , to see where my great grandfathers fought , and where so many didn’t come home , bloody heart breaking, god bless them all 🥲❤️🙏🏻
