Type-0 HD Nox Suzaku Optional Superboss Battle (Finis Hardest Difficulty)

The Nox Suzaku is the 3 headed monster that is first seen in the first mission of the game. It appears when a certain number of phantoma have been harvested in which then you can either choose to fight it or continue giving it phantoma until it goes away. You need the airship if you want to fight it
To defeat Nox Suzaku you must defeat its head inside the abyss it drags you into. The head only appears when your party member dies so make sure to have Anima Lanterns or Phoenix Pinions to grant Reraise, this is why you see me die on purpose to the monsters to make the head appear. Several ultimas should finish it off quickly; you don't get anything special from beating this

Does anyone know what the vermillion bird does when you get it to level 99? I have mine at level 70 right now. After you farm are the roaming level 99 enenmies on the map for crystal shards they don't drop anymore.

Today, I took a break from MGSV to play some FF Type-0. I stumbled upon a sudden dark sky and later into this sucker, unknowingly. Even if this is my second playthrough, even if it's on Cadet difficulty, I beat this superboss at level 60 on one try. After many of my characters died, I searched WTF was going on and learned about the tactics to make the head appear. I was on the second wave with the Adamantoise, I ignored it since it's very slow and it killed me on one hit. Using Queen, my highest magic user, I used Ethers and Phoenix Pinions just before letting Adamantoise kill me, then blast Nox with some Ice Rifle II until I got him.

Hi I started a game again I'm at the start at 130 hours already and I wanted to ask you something, can we kill Suzaku without dying? Using only the Tomberry's death? Thank you I don't remember and I don't have my old save to check, thank you very much in advance :)

hi, may I know how do you get into this real fight with nox? usually, when i fly the airship into it, i just face a few monsters, defeat them, and then nox just disappears, and then reappears later on in the game. is it due to the difficulty level?

Lim Yufan The goal is not to defeat the monsters but to defeat Nox Suzaku. Whenever a character dies (you, your allies, or support personnel), Nox Suzaku pokes his head through a portal. That's the only time you can actually attack him. If you kill all the monsters, he'll just run away and you'll have to start over. Many people find that it's easiest to wait until there are slower enemies so they can focus on Nox Suzaku more easily (for example, the human enemies are a threat, but the Golem summon is slow enough that it doesn't pose a problem).

Couple questions, wouldn't it be better to use Rem's reraise ability than an item? You can then put the "quick" item in to your equipped item slot. Not like Boost II is useful (I mean given the circumstances). Since if you're using SP Crystal and Agito Insignia, just don't use the Insignia, it's stats overlap with SP Crystal anyway and the Crystal is better since it gives HP/MP and ATK/DEF. Why it gives MP when it also gives Freecast I don't know. Only thing Agito Insignia gives that Crystal doesn't is Quick. Which I remedied. Although, I don't know if Soul of Thamasa actually increases Ultima's damage.

RuneKatashima I didn't change any of my spells for this battle. Everything i had was skilled towards the behemoth king level of the tower of agito which is why im using Anima Lanterns and Boost II. Besides rems ability is wonky and inconsistent for re-raise buff. Go with Anima Lanterns/Phoenix Pinion for consistency

Sagman Twelve Rem's ability isn't wonky or inconsistent. It just lasts a very short duration.

I got linked here from a conversation about FFXV's adamantoise battle and how much it sucks, but is actually an improvement from this fight. ...Well, at least I had some semblance of what was going on against the turtle, even though it's boring as heck. XD

I noticed in your opening screen to accept the challenge that Cinque Cater and Rem are highlighted. Were these the characters that were still alive after your first battle with the Arbitor? I ask because only Cinque was highlighted for me when I played Nox Suzaku the first time- and she was the only one that survived my first play through. It might explain why she is "special" as her phantoma was not yet released? I'm trying to figure out a reason and that's all I can think of....

For anyone still wondering its random. The game has a morale system where is every battle there will be some random character will be highlighted like that, it basically just means those characters will be buffed throught the misson.
