MEDICAL ANIMATION TRANSCRIPT: You or someone may have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This video will help you understand what it is and why it's important to keep it under control. Type 1 diabetes is a condition where your pancreas makes little or no insulin. Insulin is a chemical your body needs to keep your blood sugar at a normal level. Carbohydrates are substances your body uses to make energy. After you eat food that contains carbohydrates, it eventually goes to your small intestine. In your small intestine, the food is broken down into single sugar molecules called glucose. The cells in your small intestine soak up the sugars, which pass into your bloodstream. When the blood reaches your pancreas, it detects the high amount of sugar in your blood. Normally, this causes your pancreas to put a chemical called insulin into your bloodstream. The insulin reduces the amount of sugar in your blood to a healthy level. How does insulin do this? As the blood moves through your body, the insulin and sugar exit the bloodstream into your tissues to reach your cells. Most cells have structures on their surfaces called insulin receptors. When insulin flows by, it attaches to the receptor. The insulin acts like a key in a lock to open up the cell so the sugar can get inside. Now your cell can use the sugar to make the energy it needs to work properly, and your blood sugar level drops back to its normal range. If you have type 1 diabetes, your pancreas loses its ability to make enough or any insulin. This can result in high blood sugar levels and other complications. In type 1 diabetes, your immune system attacks some cells in your pancreas by mistake. As a result, your pancreas makes little or no insulin. Without insulin, sugar cannot get into your cells. Without sugar, your cells don't have energy. And since the sugar is locked out of your cells, it builds up to a high level in your bloodstream. This is a condition called hyperglycemia, which can lead to serious complications. If you have questions about type 1 diabetes or any medications you have been prescribed, speak with your doctor. It is important to take your medications as directed by your doctor. Tell him or her about any side effects you have.

lol The simple solution is to *not* eat sugar Consume *fat* and Proteins only Your body prefers this, getting its energy from Fatty Acid Oxidisation in the Mitochondria, instead of glucose oxidisation This video and many others fail to highlight that this all stems from *diet*

My best friend has type 1 diabetes. She is really sweet and doesn’t deserve it one bit. I feel really bad because she has to have so many shots daily, and she’s ashamed of it. It makes me really sad she has to live with it and she doesn’t deserve it. Nobody does. However, people with type 1 diabetes are honestly some of the strongest people i have ever met. Every person i’ve met with diabetes is so nice. i have never met a bad person with it. I’m so proud of anyone with type 1 diabetes. I will most likely never understand what it’s like to have it, but to anyone who does, you’re doing great. I’m super proud of you!! you guys are all angels. ❤️❤️❤️

I got diagnosed at 5 yrs of age (im now 29), and all my life I used injections because I simply can't accept having something stock to my body the whole time.. I remember clearly when the nurses were injecting me with insuline and teaching my mom how to give the shots to me. Miraculously, I didn't cry once or even thought of it as a scary thing which would have been a natural reaction from a lot of kids at that age. I have adapted to the illness so much that I don't think I would be able to live without it to be honest.

@Cloud_Seeker
@Cloud_Seeker Жыл бұрын
@@mohammedahmed2218 That is a much different question. Now I am no doctor. I just have type-1. So take what I say with a grain of salt and with that understanding. Type-1 is the less common version of diabetes. In the country I live in. 10% of all people with diabetes have type-1. All versions of diabetes are serious diseases, but type-1 is the worst version. Unlike type-2 the body has completely lost its ability to produce insulin. Insulin is a vital hormone in the body that allows your cells to accept sugar into them. All cells need sugar as that is how they eat and get their power. You can see insulin as the key that allow the door to the cells to be unlocked. Type-1 is when the body has lost its ability to produce insulin. The most likely reason is an autoimmune response where the immune system thought the pancreas were an enemy and needed to be killed. And so it did. You can also damage the pancreas in other ways. Such as with a bullet wound for example. You can see this as you having lost your key and can no longer open any door to any cell. The only way to solve this is to inject insulin produced from a outside source. You either do this or you choose death. You can get type-1 for any reason no matter what you do. We do not know what cause type-1 to happen, but we know that your lifestyle choices do not matter at all. You can also get it at any age, but most common is during your childhood. I myself got it in my 30's. Most likely caused by stress caused from the pandemic. Type-2 is the most common version of diabetes and often show up among older people and unhealthy people. Type-2 is when the body has become resistant to insulin and have stopped responding to it. Here your lifestyle choices does play a big factor. However do note that just being obese or fat does not mean you get type-2 diabetes. It is just a risk factor. You can see type-2 as you having the keys, but the keys have been used so much they are worn down and can't really unlock the doors anymore. If diabetes goes untreated you will starve the body of energy. The body require you to ALWAYS have energy in order to stay alive. Since the body can no longer use sugar to get the energy it needs, it will start to burn its fat reserves instead. The issue with burning the fat reserves is that it produce ketones as a byproduct, which is an acidic chemical. When enough of this chemical starts floating around in the blood, your blood becomes acidic. Your blood should not be acidic. When you reach a serious enough stage you will most likely get something called ketoacidosis. A acid poisoning in your blood. If this is left untreated the organs in your body will stop functioning and start to shutdown. It is not a pleasant experience. You will literally feel like you are expiring. You can also reach other complications such as nerve damage and loss of eyesight and more. If you suffer nerve damage you can simply loss your ability to feel wounds in your feet. If a wound is left untreated because you can't feel it. You may have to amputate your foot to save your life. Also remember. If you have diabetes you may have a high blood sugar contents in your blood, which bacteria will love to feast on. This is basically a short summary of what I know. If you think you have diabetes you should always check with a doctor as soon as possible.

Which nuts are best for diabetics?
@Cloud_Seeker
@Cloud_Seeker 9 ай бұрын
Dez nuts of course. Sorry but the answer are whatever you want and can eat. It is not a question about what food is best or not. The best food is a healthy diet and healthy food as for anyone else. The only difference between a diabetic and a non-diabetic is that a diabetic need to count their carbohydrates and supply insulin.
