Saw Peter in Type O the first time at a small venue show where I worked. Guy was far from the normal rockstars we got through. Asked me to help him setup some stuff since he didnt have his own crew. This was just after MTV played Little Miss Scare All (yeah I know Black #1 but I like the sub better) the first time on Halloween Headbangers Ball. So between sets I jumped from my duties on lighting and climbed down from the balcony and helped him set his table with lamp and bottle of blood up then his gear. I told him I'd due his tech but I had to climb the scaffold to the balcony (I played bass in a band then). He looked me up after the show and gave me some merch and thanked me whole heartedly. The next time I saw them it was the last show of the tour with Pantera. They were buying toilet paper at the store I stopped to grab some beer. Found out they planned to bomb the Pantera crew since they had been pranking each other the entire tour. He remembered my name and walked up to me and struck a conversation. Then gave me a backstage pass. Saw them a few other times and he picked me out of the second row one other time. They were my favorite band and still are. I was crushed when I found out about his passing. I still have his music playing daily as I move through the day and still stop at my favorite songs and remember the kindness of a guy to a simple electrical and lighting guy at a converted movie theater in the desert that was lucky enough to get bands like Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Type o before they were famous enough to fill stadiums.
