Well actually saying this, I meet him in Brussels just next to the ancienne Belgique concert hall in the mid 90's and had the opportunity to have a one to one talk for 10 minutes. Fortunately I was the only one that recognized him when he came out of the cab. I just can confirm that he was a very nice and lovely person and a kind of shy guy but extremely friendly. Got a personal autograph on my shirt (which I still have today) and I was surprised how down to earth he was. Just an amazing guy

It helped that he was 6'8", 240 lbs, and everyone else looked like midgets next to him. Throw in that he looked like a long haired, medieval vampire, and I'd say he felt like king of the world most of the time, at least in relation to others.

@@arthurbishop3173 His bandmates say he really hated standing out so much, he couldn't go to the corner store to buy tp without something weird happening. My Oldest Daughter’s father was a bouncer at a venue called The Palladium in Worcester MA. One night Type O Negative we’re playing. By the end of the night, Peter was so drunk that My ex had to help him get upstairs to the dressing room area. Peter put his arm around him and he was so Starstruck he was not supposed to ask the artists for their autograph’s but, I am such a huge fan I asked him before he left for work to please try to get his autograph for me. So, my ex asked him and, Peter agreed Because he had been so nice to help him get up the narrow staircase. The only piece of paper he had was a discarded piece of a fake blood packet that someone had brought. Peter wrote on the back of the fake blood package Thanks for the memories -Richard Nixon 😂😂😂 My ex got home from work that night all happy and excited to tell me about his experience with Peter and to show me the autograph I was so excited and then I read it to him and I was like wth he signed it Richard Nixon? 😂 Ny ex and I just laughed so hard. I asked him if he still had it and he does. 😊I wish I had it. Oh well… I just wanted to share my story about Peter Steele / Richard Nixon 🖤💚🖤🎶🫶🏼🪽🪦🪽🫶🏼🎶🖤💚🖤 I hope he’s at peace ✌🏻 now because he wanted solitude so badly. I believe that he is with us in his own ways. RIP Petrus

It sort of bothers me that people speak of Peter so sexually. I think that Peter should be remembered for who he was. As far as I gather he was a great musician (I'm not fully aware of it because I've only heard a couple of Type O Negative's songs). Furthermore, he was a decent human being. He had a great personality and was just an all-around badass. The looks were just a bonus.

Peter steeles real attraction for me has always been his attitude. He is so honest and down to earth and normal. All the interviews iv seen him in he talks a lot about his music and fame from a "job" perspective. As if he never took his fame seriously or bought into the celebrity aspect and that would take a very strong character. I remember listening to bloody kisses in the 90s when I was 15 and it had a romantic aspect to it for me that other bands did not have, maybe that was peters personality coming through when he sang the lyrics to songs like black number 1 and set me on fire, and to a point even songs like we hate everyone. It has always bothered me when I see interciews with him to know that he would die at such an early age.

I was around almost 14 when he was in Playgirl. My older cousin had it and I was already a fan but then I saw that spread and that was my “awakening.” Like, “Oh! Ok. Ya. I definitely like men.” Lol! I never got to see him and TON in concert and I’ll always be sad about that.
