One style type you forgot about are Boxer-Punchers, which are a balance of the Infighter and the Outboxer. Take Wolf, Cork, Ghost, and Shotgun. All of these styles have characteristics that make them good at both rush down (high power attacks/great mix ups/nice forward dash) and passive play (good passives/solid range and dashes/attack speed). These guys are usually pretty well rounded fighters who aren't great at anything, but good at most stuff. I guess Kimura and Basic count too, but idk?

Bullet is on another level, you dont even need to be the best at predicting. Just combo m1-m2 and stop for a sec till the enemy puts off guard. As the guard is down, the guy will most probably attack you, and you can counter with m1 or m2 as you wish. Wash, rinse and repeat.

that's called hybrid style or "all rounder", styles that can change between passive-agressive in less than half of a second wolf is the best example since Volg was actually both an in-fighter and an out-boxer and the style really represents it actually, Counter can be used the same as well, but the point is that it's weird for most ppl to not have more than one type of playing most ppl that like in-fighting tend to lear how to counter punch easier than out-boxers

My play style is kind of hard to explain but I’ll try my best. I’m kind of a mix of infighting, outfighting, and counterpunching. Not as an all-rounder where I switch using them, but combine them all into one play style. I tend to use an outfighting style such as hitman or long guard due to their fast m1 and reach making it easier to counter and for another very specific “ability” that I will explain later on. Once they’re within my range I then do light attacks like a typical outboxer would but then as soon as my stamina is low, I start waiting for counters. If they dash sideways, it’s free hits. If they attack, it’s free counters. If they dash back, I can quite literally pull them back into my range by cancelling their dash if I time it right. This is the special ability I was talking about and I found it easier if you’re using an outfighting style. This basically means I use an outfighting style, wait for counters like a counter style, and keep the pressure on them like an infighter. If anyone plays like this, please let me know as well.

The easiest way to beat any strategy is to imitate the strategy, people don’t know what to do then. A good infighter vs a good outfighter would be a bit of a stall, since they are both used to fighting opposing strategies, but the second an infighter gets rushed, or an out fighter is forced into rushing is when it falls apart for them

I dunno if its just me but I feel that there is a 5th fighting style. I wouldn't call this fighting style Boxer-Punchers like the most liked comment on this video did but i would call them "Legend" as I've only came across this type of playstyle very, VERY rarely out of my whole 3k KDs of playing the game. I wanna talk about a specific player first tho: I probably had 1.5k KDs at this point (before the dash rework) and I was almost finished developing a counter-puncher sort of playstyle but I matched up against this guy with a display name of "Ippo" who also had an Ippo avatar and was using Ippo. The fight started and I tried to analyse the opponent. At the start they were using their dash way too much than they needed to so I expected them to dash a crap ton. But as play continued they became HEAVILY hyper-aggressive, going as far to respond with an attack after being perfect dodged. Then he suddenly switched his playstyle back to the heavy dash reliant playstyle, but even with that type of playstyle he still managed to perfect dodge EVERYTHING with ease. Every time I thought I had read him, whether it be by dodging or attacking, he would immediately switch his playstyle, like he had Dissociative Identity Disorder, and was able to switch between the two at bloody will similar to the Mind Shuffle from fuckin' YuGiOh. The score ended up at 3-0, most likely ending with him at like half health. This ability to just switch/have perfect balance over/from passive play, aggressive play, and *counter play is what I call "Legend" and I've been trying to get that mindset too. Usually, people who have this playstyle will never pick an Out-Boxer style, and will often pick Counter-Puncher, type styles. Though I believe through experience, that In-Fighter type styles are a better suit for this type of playstyle (e.g Turtle, Ippo, Charge, Kimura, etc). But then again, this type of play could just be super-commitment to hyper-aggressive play and I just suck at adaptation. *I listed counter play here because most of the time they are actively trying to read you like a book.

I'm kind of a mix between a brawler and a counter. Because I try to read my opponent and figure out what they're trying to do and if I know I can catch them in a barrage of punches. I tend to act more like a brawler, but if they seem to actually know how to use their style. And they're kind of tricky to deal with. I will tend to lean more towards counter.

My gameplay in ubg from new to average went like this: 1.THE BEGGER 2.THE BEGGER 2.0 3.THE RAGER 4.the one who gives tips and motivation but can't take his own tips to win. 5.in fighter(when i got ippo) 6.the "can't decide" 7.the "ima try this out" then when defeated will say "nah this gameplay sux" 8.Brawler(when i got my first legendary, slugger) 9.the "can't decide" again...its when i spun away slugger 10.the runner(when i got freedom) 11.the "feeling lucky" i ended up wasting my 21 spins to only get basic in the end, thus losing freedom. 12.the "I QUIT" cuz i lost freedom. 13.the "I AM BACK BABYYY" (Cuz i got hitman) 14:passive(self explanatory) 15:the toxic. 16:the "redemption arc" 17.the dude everyone loves for not being the type of pasive player that runs through the whole map,and for saying "gg" and "you're so good imagine in 3 weeks time, your power will be insane" 18.the "i know how to counter everything"(when im fighting an infighter i go pasive, when fighting a brawler i go counter and so on.) 19.the one who spams counter. 20.the one who switches up his gameplay in each 2 minutes of the fight.

I respect all players equally, but those who use hitman do not deserve respect or pity

Bro i just constantly switch between in-fighter and counterpuncher, as well as out-boxer. I usually use hitman as a counterpuncher or a in-fighter, i also main counter. So I’m more of a well-rounded boxer

I be playing a kinda brawler out style cause I like to keep my distance with slugger and when they come in I have the timeing and length of my punches down and I’ll start hitting and then I’ll throw in my M2 but when they start getting predictable I’ll add pauses

I’m a In fighter and Counter puncher I love using Bullet and Ippo and sometimes use Iron fist for fun I main Ippo because I can perfectly even out the amount of damage I dish out with counter punches

I started as a brawler, infighter, then when I had more skill both an outboxer and counter user.

Been playing Hawk and Shotgun as sort of Box-Punchers, or Balanced. It’s fun completely shutting down someone with m1s and positioning one stock, and the next one rushing in to do as much as possible before going down. Works pretty well, honestly.
