I didn’t realize there were that many varieties of ticks, thanks!

I was bitten by one I have never seen before, in Belize. It was on my inner arm between elbow and wrist and took weeks to heal as well as stayed incredibly itchy and swollen for 6 months . The swelling was 30 cm long from wrist to inner elbow joint. The tick was triangular with a flat and broad rear , not rounded and about 8mm in length. I had to use my lighter to detach it because it wouldnt let go and I didnt want any parts of it to remain inside my flesh. I worried for a long time what it would do on the long term and none of the doctors could tell because they were foreign . It left a white crater scare on my mid arm , about 4mm wide. I have not found that tick listed anywhere on the internet.

Is there a blood test that can tell you if you have lyme disease or Rocky Mountain spotted fever after you've been bitten?

Does the American Dog ticks only bite dogs or also humans?
