Lesson on Typhoid Fever: Pathogenesis, Signs and Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment and Other Important Considerations
Typhoid fever is caused by infectious bacteria of the genus Salmonella, specifically the species Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi. Typhoid fever is endemic in certain parts of the world, including South East Asia and parts of Africa. Risk factors of contracting Typhoid Fever include poor sanitation, overcrowding, and contaminated water sources. Individuals become infected by Salmonella bacteria typically through ingestion of contaminated water sources, whereby the bacteria survive gastric acids and penetrate into the epithelial wall of the small intestine. The bacteria then cause a fever and a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms due to penetration and proliferation within the bowel wall. Diagnosis of Typhoid Fever occurs through culturing the bacteria and treatment depends on the extent of antibiotic resistance in different geographic locations. We also discuss typhoid fever treatments (typhoid medications) and preventative measures including typhoid fever immunizations (typhoid fever vaccine).

Thanks for this very educational video. It seems as if the Dr.’s here where I live in Texas are Not as educated on this topic. I’ve had Typhus, Typhoid Fever, Ricky Mountain Fever & been Sepsis for over 4 years now, and yet the Dr.’s are Not going to see me until the end of Jan. next year. They claimed, four years ago the testing was too expensive and hoped I would be fine after being hospitalized with these infectious diseases, but tested positive again 2 months later. I have been constantly nauseated and have been constipated but yet nothing has still been done other than a repeat of an oral antibiotic. I fear that I could be contagious to others so I’m trying to educate myself thanks again for sharing.

I got a vaccine for typhoid fever but I still caught paratyphoid fever. I had all the symptoms listed including temporary psychosis it was terrifying! I was put on antibiotics and all my symptoms are gone now, it has been 6 months and I just got tested for it again and my blood test came back positive for it. Can you explain more on what it means to be a carrier?? Does that mean I can get sick from it again later on or that it can affect my organs even if i don’t have symptoms? Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't typhoid fever come from the rivers that are infected with different types of volcanic gases and stuff like that instead of salmonella however salmonella can be used to treat typhoid fever it's like basically over a word soaking beans and for about 2 days cooking them with some garlic soaking the garlic in the beans as well making like a sort of kind of wine out of the Bean Juice from the water that it's soaked in which will actually fight this M&L abet is actually supposed to not be in typhoid fever because typhoid fever comes from the rivers that are infected with volcanic gases that seep up from the ground like underground Springs that comes in contact with the the fault line and beans that little rock is near Hot Springs which has the underground Caverns which bouncy volcanic acid and magma Chambers and 19 977 which explains the graciella garnet rocks in all of that around the Little Rock North Little Rock 4:40 to 4:40 and also swamps as well Little Rock is now surrounded by swamps that look like grass
