Even if he changed to a different style (which I feel he would've won in the first set if Sonic stayed with zoning with Gunslinger, Sonic just got impatient) I still would say TekkenMaster. Sonic was also dropping a lot more than he usually would. I've seen him do 42% damage with Erron Black. Predator would've been a good switch for SonicFox. I also forgot he had won Injustice and he also won MK the year before. So he technically won 3 straight EVO titles. He's got 6 titles as of 2023 now. The last one being for Skullgirls where he dominated his way through to the title.

Sonic has won huge tournaments for MK9, MKX, MKXL, and MK11. Won 3 EVO titles for MKX 2015, MKXL in 2016, and MK11 in 2019. Never been to Evo, but as a winner of a local tournament that had to use a backup chara, sometimes you gotta do that. I'll give props to those who can single-chara a tourney, but doesn't make a player any less of one from using another. Unless a rule states only one character, I see the moaning and groaning about Sonicfox switching up pointless.

The issue isn't that he switched characters, but was that he counter picked, btw I love sonic fox and personally don't mind that he did it, he totally deserved to win evo

+Christian Smith not really tekken master knew the match ups for all the characters sonic used, and these type of players have to know all matchups, so he probably knew the match up for alien but alien is so damn good that he couldn't win the matchup, and alien wins by a lot in that matchup too, so it is the character in this situation that won evo not the player.
