A couple of details I enjoy 1. The masks: hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil. Perhaps it implies that's the biggest joke of all. 2. The fact that the people who killed Sampo's friends were SILVERMANE guards - it gives more depth to why Sampo hates the Silvermane guards in particular. No matter how crazy kids are, it's hard to justify a scenario in which it's okay to mow them down like that. 3. The fact that it's not the Silvermane guards adult Sampo fights - it's the IPC. Now that he's an adult, he's got bigger enemies, and he finesses them with ease now. 4. Young Sampo's fighting style was a rage-induced, blind murder spree; adult Sampo's fighting style is a perfect performance. The first punch, the opening act - and a bow with a bang to top it off at the end. It was Sampo's play, and he was in control start to finish. 5. Aha's name, subtly hidden in the lyrics...near the end, instead of "I'm a fool, ohh ohh oh ohh" it's "I'm a fool, aha, aha ah ahh." Subtle, but brilliant. 6. This would explain why Sampo's path in game is Nihility. "What in life matters? Nothing matters - life and death, it's all one big joke." I think that might be how Sampo thinks.

those aren't silvermane, they're the ipc goons. similar shape like we see in the robots because the ones on Belobog were assistance from ipc. think of Belobog wearing ancient medieval armor because that's all they had whereas the ipc is using stealth camo and night vision bc they've been able to advance their technology

I loved Sampo from day one of the game and when i learned he has ties with Elation (probably my fav Aeon after Swarm) they are just people that just fucking dont care and do whatever just for the fun of it.

Yeah, from what I've seen in SimUni, the masked fools can be anywhere on the spectrum from "Public pranksters" to "Literally will kill people if it gets a laugh". While one would think the faction based on "laughing at the joke that is life" would be rather benign, but they're basically wildcards, distrusted because who knows what they'll do.

Idk if its just me overthinking things. But when young sampo was fighting the guards he held his daggers pointed forward making a more painful and jagging type stab because hes angry. then normal sampo has his blades pointed back for a more elegant or fluid fighting style now that hes matured. just my two sense. Songs great too!

Glad you noticed that!!!! How we wanted to show this sequence was When sampo was young after losing his friends he was in conflict with his choice on the path of elation but after seeing his friend laugh in the face of death it regained his belief on the path and cause of that he gained more strength from embracing elation to take out the silvermanes. In the young moment he definitely was motivated by rage but found the joke in the situation, when we see him as a adult we’re seeing a sampo that accepts the outcomes of every situation and controls his actions so that his path gets the punchline he wants 🎭🦴

Hello! I'm a Japanese HSR player. I just started HSR recently and I love Sampo after watching this great video! I was very moved when I realized that the scene at 1:31 where the train is exploded is a tribute to when Aha cut the train in half. Other than that, I could see a lot of attention to detail and could feel your love for Sampo! Love and respect for your wonderful work!

AAAAAA, ALMOST AT 1 MILLION!! I’m so proud of you guys!! Y’all have no idea how freaking shocked I was to see a Sampo video at the HoYoFair, and not just “a Sampo video” though, BUT A MASKED FOOLS RELATED ONE TOO! This is absolutely amazing, the transitions are so well done, the storytelling is on point, the facial expressions are great... Especially the transitions from Sampo to the mug, like damn, that was so well done! This was definitely one of the if not my most favorite HSR contribution at HoyoFair. The masked fools in HSR remind me of that ghoul syndicate from Tokyo Ghoul, "The Clowns" I think they were called? Almost identical in their ideals and obsessive chaotic nature. You encapsulated that whole energy so perfectly! Too many compliments to give and praises to sing

There's something so incredibly charming about this rendering. I'm torn between reminding me of holiday claymation and the occasional PBS show that I'd come across as a kid. The way you pushed the expressions were downright magical, especially when Sampo essentially goes manic/hysterical which encompasses Aha (comedy/tragedy) since they are the most extreme spectrum of emotions.

I wanna let you know that I haven't been able to stop listening to this and I've been keeping it on repeat for four days now. I really enjoyed the animation and details put into this. I especially enjoyed the more "abstract" parts with the red background (idk what to call it, my bad) and the song is really catchy too! You definitely reinvigorated my love for Sampo!

Oh this is GORGEOUS WHAT THE FUCK- the art/rendering style is something I feel as though I've never seen, yet it brings such a sense of nostalgia and comfort (think along the lines of.. killer7's era.. those kind of niche cult classics, it brings just a sense of what was and the past - which works insanely well also for what this animatic was about) the song? immaculate, it encapsulated everything about this piece insanely well and am I biased as a Sampo lover? yeah, he's my favourite character within the game (holding the same tier as Luocha, IL, Blade and Welt..)But seeing somebody portray his lore this was is beautiful in itself - I know he's the comic relief so to speak, but he genuinely has some insane lore and has shown little bits and pieces of when the mask 'slips' (the gallery event so to speak) and is genuinely serious about his craft none the less. just.. TLDR: this is gorgeous and I can't say that enough - the rendering/art style, the animation, the storytelling? perfection - I wished I got to see it live, though I am happy I got to see it at all! This is a masterpiece, seriously! Thank you for letting us witness it! o7
