If you want mileage tyres then go with silica base tyres if ur running is daily 50 to 100 km then go wtih with continental,michelin,bridgestone,yokohama

I have used Michelin tyres for two times and here is my experience. They are very good interms of grip, handling and nvh. XM2+, P3ST and the new P4ST are popular in Michelin but they cost more then 6k for XM2+ and nearly 7k for P4ST (Size 195/60 R15). If you compare it with other make and models, this is pretty expensive and not value for money. Also due to import restrictions you will only find old stocks in some tyre dealers. Another problem with Michelin is cracking and chipping. You'll find plenty of complaints if you search around the web. Like I have said about, I have used XM1 and later P3ST on my car. Former started cracking/chipping after 40k KMs/7 years which is okay but latter (P3ST) started with hairline cracks just after 3 years and it became worst after 4 years (1 mm wide cracks all round the tyre). Michelin or the dealer wouldn't help claim warranty because it doesn't apply to cracks and 3 years have been passed. They have 22 inapplicable points listed under warranty guidelines and they will find any one reason to reject the claim. Same goes with any other tyres brands and you should be lucky to get a replacement tyre but I don't bet on it. As of bridgestone, they are good at dumping outdated models in our Indian market and call them as premium tyres. For example B290, it is a decent tyre but it has been in market since 8 years and there is nothing special in it to pay 500-1k more then similar tyres from other brands. Ecopia, this one is marketed as low-rolling resistance and fuel-saving but the tyre is hard which compromises on wet grip and high speed grip. Other Bridgestone models available here in India aren't worth considering. Yokohama Earth 1 which is made in/for India but company doesn't mention anything about rating or standards to help me compare with other tyres and also it uses nylon ply instead of polyamide in tread surface so ride will be little harsh or noisy atleast in the initial spin. Another good tyre in Yokohama is Bluearth (Made in Japan) but again due to recent import restrictions, it's supply has been stopped and company is manufacturing equivalent tyre known as Bluearth GT here in India. There are no reviews for GT model yet but Bluearth had very good reviews worldwide. Unfortunately most of the local dealers don't have stock Bluearth GT to check details on sidewall and we have to make partial payment and then they will get it from distributor after 2-3 days. Continental has released UC6 and CC6 last year Q4 and both are now made here in India. Researched more on these and found to be pretty good. has been selling in international market (Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia & etc) since 2018 and has 4/5 reviews rating. Here in India, I have found several posts of people who I have bought UC6 tyres in past few months and they are very satisfied with its performance. It has got Treadwear, Traction and Temperature rating same as P3ST (340, A, A respectively) but only has one polyester ply in tread (Tread - 1 Polyester, 2 Steel, 1 Polyamide | Sidewall - 2 Polyester) instead of 2 as in P3ST but what is the use when it cracks prematurely. Anyway, last week I have changed my car tyres from P3ST to Continental UC6 and I'm very satisfied with it. Grip, handling and comfort are similar if not better then P3ST. Glad I got the same performance for lesser premium (4.9k each for 195/60 R15 excluding WA/WB). There is slight increase in tyre noise (obviously because Michelins are most silent) but only noticeable when the windows are fully opened and on concrete roads. In P3ST, stones used to get stuck in treads and make noise each time it hits the ground but not doesn't happen with UC6. I hope these tyres will be durable and don't start cracking too soon.

@@Srikanthnk Ya after much research even I I'm planning on getting continental cc5 since they're are the only size available for my profile 155 65 r14 draw back is no unconditional warranty and wear is 360 compared to michelin 420 and promise plan which was like 5 years unconditional warranty, good part it has 2 ply side wall and people using them also giving good feedback correct me if you think otherwise and also I'll check if cc6 is or any other available in continental. I elemenated Bridgestone and yoko for the same reason that you mentioned there is absolutely no info regarding anything and also b290 is a carbon based not silica based.

@@Tbonefozzy Continental CC5 is very good tyre and it was on top of my wishlist but unfortunately it is not available in 195/60 R15 size for my car (09' Honda City). You can consider it though but I'm not sure if you'll get fresh stock because it has been replaced to CC6/UC6 last year. Also see if you can upsize stock tyres, say 165/65 R 14 May I know which Michelin tyre that has 420 treadwear? because my XM1 had 320 and P3ST 340. I have came across several Michelin tyre owners who have clocked more then 70k KMs but you have to do it within 3-4 years otherwise tyre will start to crack or break apart even if there is life on tread. CC5 has 6 plies in tread (2 Polyester + 2 Steel + 2 Polyamide) and 2 in Sidewall (2 Polyester). My dealer has given me 2 year unconditional warranty but I don't bet on it because they will find an excuse and we have to buy new ones anyway. In fact it actually happened while I was in the shop. One guy came to show sidewall cut on his recently bought car tyres but dealer didn't entertain, he said sharp stone must have been caused it and warranty is not applicable in such cases.

@@Tbonefozzy Btw; You can also checkout Bridgestone Turanza T005. It is available in 155/65 r14 and hopefully local dealers will have it in stock. It has good grip, handling, breaking in dry surfaces. Low noise and low rolling resistance. Grip and breaking in wet surfaces is bit average though. I wish same was available for my car.

@@Srikanthnk I'll check once bridgestone tunanza,conti cc5 are 21 make I checked, I should check for cc6 if available.. Treadwear 420 is for xm2 and xm2+.. And also any idea how conti be in for long term usage as my use is once a week or twice a month but usually long journey and highways and bad roads along with twisty hairpin bends. Oem fitment were maxxis which had still thread left about 1mm over indicator after 46000 only thing is its 15 make and have noticed small cracks in the circumference of the side wall and on treads so planning on replacing. And yes my maxxis also has 400 A and A fot treadwear traction n temperature.
