I was re watching Furious 7 the other day and I observed that you could literally remove Tyrese Gibson from the movie and it would not make any difference to the main plot of the film... They only use him for comic relief, hes pretty useless otherwise

I don't know if anyone has said this already, but on the whole thing about The Rock reinvigorating the franchise, I would urge John and everyone else to watch yesterday's Charting with Dan. It reveals a possibility that Johnson actually might've gained more from the franchise than it gained from him, and it's a really fascinating theory that I think is pretty solidly possible. As for Tyrese, he is being childish but on a guttural level, I get him. If you came into my territory and stole my thunder, putting my job at risk, I'd be pretty pissed too. He should probably just vent to his friends or subtweet like the rest of us, but humans gonna human.

Actually, if you look at the numbers of tickets sold, the franchise was already trending up BEFORE The Rock arrived. Check out Fandom's/Screen Junkies' recent "Charting With Dan" video on this. His arrival coincided with the increase in importance of international markets. It's also when the plots went heavily international. If you look at Johnson's solo films before and after hs F&F participation, you see a big shift from domestic to international box office. It could easily be argued that his career internationally was boosted by the F&F franchise, not the other way around. Also, just look at the performance of any of his solo films vs. his ensemble work. His solo films tend to be far less successful. Heck, Get Smart is in his top 5 and he's not even a lead.

The movie Hobbs n Shaw was fun. Probably one of the best movies this summer. Just fun, stupid n action packed...great summer film

no hate to the guy, but did the rock being in fast five really make it that big of a movie, because before then, I just remember him being in bunch of small movies. fast furious has done more for his career, nearly every movie before fast five I've seen first hand in the bargain bin except "the tooth fairy" and "get smart". personally maybe because I'm a fast and furious fan was more hyped about all the characters from the different movies coming together, like the rock being in it was just extra goodness because the Dom vs hobbs fight.
