I've tried almost every tutorial on youtube to put it into recovery mode (DFU mode) but al those tutorials didn't work. When i thougt i will give up, I tried this tutorial and it worked!!!!! You're a lifesaver! My nephews like to put passcodes on their iPods and one of them ended up being disabled. Tried 20 minutes to restore it, according to the iPod touch user guides online and couldn't get it. Googled videos and found yours.. restored on the first try!

This Method Worked Perfectly After A Few times. My old ipod was disabled and I hooked it up to my mac over night it had 840MB to restore and this morning I was able to set up the ipod like it was a brand new one

From past experience with my locked iPhones yes it does delete all data so pictures, texts, photos etc hope this helps

Thanks heaps. This worked on my iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1 after I changed my password whilst a little intoxicated and had NO idea what it was this morning. Unfortunately I hadn't backed it up since October last year.
