That's true, but the ref was 100% correct to give Fury a count. Without the ropes Fury would have gone down, so a count was 100% the right decision. It just so happened that that decision helped Fury. No dodgy stuff, just the rules applied correctly!!!

@@KryptonitetoallBS thanks for that clarification. im definitely a casual boxing fan and didnt understand the stoppage there for a count. i felt like ive seen that exact scenario but the ref steps in and just fully stops the fight because the fighter isnt defending himself. but i guess in this instance he appeared to actually be falling down and was just help up by the ropes?

@@Robertsp12345 Yes. He was only held up by the ropes. IF the ref had concluded that Fury was not throwing any punches, he would have been quite within his rights to stop the fight there and then with Usyk winning by TKO.

It was a knockdown it was scored as such. Wilder couldn’t stop fury what makes you think Usyk would have. @@vents82 nly one judge scored the fight correctly 115 to 112 to Usky ) Fury won round 4 ,5 ,6 maybe 3 or 7 but they where very close , 50 to 45 Fury Usky won round 1 ,2 ,8 ,10 ,11 ,12 which was 60 to 54 Usky Plus Round 9 a 10 to 8 Usky That's best result for Fury would be 115 to 112 for Usky )) Remember Usky won over half the rounds plus the knock down

@@isaiahburns7538: The rule states: "Punches must not be struck below the opponent's navel". What that is understood to mean is, a FULL punch below the navel. Dubois's punch landed smack center on the navel. It's an ambiguous rule that needs to be amended. Be that as it may, the ref saved usyk.

I've been boxing since I was 6, also been coaching, sparring and reffing for the past 10yrs as well. YOU SAID IT This was beautiful to watch. Those who don't love the sport might choose the Wilder fights but for my money this was a good as it gets. Best big heavyweight fight I can think of in over a decade

Dirty intervention? The only thing dirty here is your ignorance. Rule book clearly states that it’s a knockdown if the fighter is held up by the ropes after getting hit with a clean shot. Fury was held up by the ropes, and like the non-dirty ref that he was, the ref followed the rule book

Yikes. It was a close fight dude, and he thought he won. He wasn’t sitting on a couch like you watching in 4k with instant replays, he was actually in the ring taking and giving punches. So if he thought he won the fight he is allowed to say it. He gave usyk props and accepted the decision. You want him to bow down to the guy? Lol And you don’t have to hit the canvas to get a knockdown and a count. If you are being held up by the ropes it can be considered a knockdown. And that is clearly what happened.

He needs to be more active in there. He was only throwing two punch combos and that's simply not enough to beat a caliper fighter like Usyk. He should know that even though he didn't believe he was down it was way too close and you should always fight full out 100%...get a decisive victory not trying to get there by points. That's not how you're supposed to win championship fights. You're supposed to fight as a Champion would fight....like Usyk

Usyk did way better than I expected. Fury could have done even better. He could have tried to actually put Usyk away the many times he had him stunned the first half of the fight, instead of trying to outbox him for a decision

He really did. He got in great shape. Thise lead uppercut were real nice. But that Saud, he's getting more and more hittable. Probably age creeping in. But great foght and great performance by both men. Looking forward to rematch.

I'm so glad that usyk is THE NEW UNDISPUTED WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CHAMPION, hopefully he will carry this championship and bring the respect to it that it deserves. Fury it was an embarrassment to this title, I never liked his attitude nor the way he walked around cursing at every interview and his dad running his big mouth wanting to fight everybody. Now we have a champ that we can all look up to.

Fury was finished. Usyk landed upwards of 20 shots without Tyson responding. He was out on his feet. Fight should've been stopped.

He was in control in the middle of the fight, was hurting USYK and looked really confidential at that point. He also recovered really well after the 9th and made it competitive. He just lost a close split decision against a future Hall of Famer and all time great, that doesn't mean he's 'Shot'. This is what happens in elite 50 50 boxing.

@@matthewrhodes6571 Only one judge scored the fight correctly 115 to 112 to Usky ) Fury won round 4 ,5 ,6 maybe 3 or 7 but they where very close , 50 to 45 Fury Usky won round 1 ,2 ,8 ,10 ,11 ,12 which was 60 to 54 Usky Plus Round 9 a 10 to 8 Usky )) That's the best result possible for Fury was USKY won 115 to 112 )) OR 117 to 110 to Usky is the worse result for Fury Watch the fight again
