It’s true. You don’t understand depression until you go through it. People do think you’re trying to be a victim. Doesn’t ever matter how much money you have and how positive you are, it can get you. So nice to hear Tyson’s story. Gives me hope.

So when I was nine years old I watched my brother die in a boating accident, he bled to death in my arms. Following that accident my family split apart, my mother was having an affair on my father with the gentleman that was driving the boat. After my brothers death I was abused for years in a variety of ways, and when I was twelve I decided to commit suicide by hanging myself. I remember seeing my brother on the other side and he said "I'm with God and everything is ok, we both have our eyes on you. Your time is not yet over and you have to go back because God has plans for your life." I fell into a bad crowd in high school, I began doing and selling drugs, I fought people for money in backyards, I destroyed other peoples property, I stole things, and I hurt many people. One day I had an epiphany and decided to cut ties with everyone in my life and I began to focus on golf, and for nine years I moved up and down the west coast of the United States working at multiple golf courses and I was a pro for three years. But I was still struggling with my mental health issues and I had a breakdown in the parking lot at my last golf tournament. I spent almost two months in a psych hospital that summer. A few months ago I began working at Crunch Fitness in Boise Idaho as a janitor because the Gm told me that "you could be a champion bodybuiulder" This speech resonates with me on a deeply personal level because I know exactly what Tyson is speaking about. God saved my life and he sent me back to give me a second chance. My only desire in this life is to be a force for good in this world and to be a role model for those struggling with their own personal demons. God bless you Mr Fury.

This is bloody important. No one would be ashamed of a broken leg. No one should be ashamed of mental health issues. This man knocks out professional boxers at the highest level for a living. Anxiety issues and mental health issues do not discriminate who they affect. This man is helping to remove the stigma. More people will get help and support. Personally in the most part Ive dealt with my issue alone. Its been tough and cost me diamonds but Im still here and at least physically strong to fight another day. Thats the main thing. The guy is fighting tougher opposition than anyone in the HW division by far, hes about 3 solid wins off being an all time great HW. So I dont buy into the notion that hes scared or protected for one second because hes already taken tons of risks. I then got a new job and started training and life got much better beat the anxiety for a good 6 years and life was good. Now I'm 29 and I've recently got myself back into that dark hole again and I've made myself physically ill by messing up my digestive system (low stomach acid production) because of the anxiety and also caused my gut to become out of balance and now I'm fighting everyday to become physically and mentally well again but it's the toughest fight of my life this time I'm 4 months into this fight and I'm praying and fighting for that light at the end of the tunnel. I have been in that dark whole....it's horrible. This interview has given me hope that I can get better. I am extremely popular and full of life....that's my public persona. I'm a fan of joshua and fury I don't take sides I just appreciate them both cos their brits like myself so it's all good .I actually think that Tyson is gonna rush him and try and catch him cold.ive seen him throwing this straight right in training and anyone who thinks that fury can't punch needs to change sports cos he's a big fucking lump of a man and if he catches you you will feel it.wilder can punch but he's never had a man like fury in front of him and he doesn't have the skills but he does have that valium type power to put you out if he can land it. I remember when i had my first panic attack. I had negative thoughts for a while building up, but never signs of anxiety that made me physically ill. No one knows what it's like until you've experienced it yourself. It's a near death experience. Feels like your brain just stops sending signals to your body so you freeze up and starts to panic. Kinda like sleep paralysis, but you stress out of the thought that you loose control out among people.

I have a lot of the same issues as Tyson with regards mental health problems. Racing mind, depression, feeling worth less even though i have a partner and child. More than 10 years of my life have drifted by in a fog of recreational drugs, pharmaceutical drug abuse and alcohol and regular unemployment and in the last year suicide has crossed my mind more and more. Tyson is my hero and is motivating me to do something about my demons and get myself a happy life. I wish him all the best in his fight. I won €400 when he beat klitchko and I will place another bet this fight cause I believe he can win even after all he has been through. There's only 1 Tyson fury!

Been there bro. Sounds *exactly* like me 4-5 years ago. Just push through. One day something will just click. Some people find anti-depressant tablets help. I think they helped me. They don't alter your mind state or anything. There's a chemical imbalance in our brain that needs sorting out. Those tablets can help. You've got to stick with them though. I was on them for about 6 months or so. For me, that wasn't a long time. Depressed and suicidal for about 7 years - 20-27. So taking tablets for 6 months was nothing compared to 7 years of depression. Quitting smoking weed helped immensely as well! The tablets obviously worked because they got me passed it. Pretty fucked up tough because i was diagnosed with cancer back in May! Got it cut out on the 4th of July. America's independence day is my cancer independence day, lol. I'm on chemo now to try and stop it from coming back. I only mention that to say that even though i was diagnosed with cancer at 33 years old i didn't go back to my dark times. So once you beat depression, it's easier to stay ahead of it, if that makes sense... Oh yeah, and if you do go to the doctors, try to be assertive! When i first went my doctor told me to read a book and go for a walk! I went back a couple of weeks later and told him that wasn't working. Even when i went about cancer they treated it as IBS for about a month before i told them it's not working and i want further tests!

It's amazing how relatable this is. I had some great successes at work and completed some deals that earned me a decent amount of money, I put months of hard work in and fell into a pit of depression for weeks after completion. Everyone around me was bigging it up and patting me on the back m, but inside I felt hollow, lost and without purpose. Of course it's nothing compared to the success of Fury, but on a personal level it's so good to hear it's not just me... nobody I spoke to could understand the massive come down and I had no idea how to cope with it other than pick a new fight and new challenge, but where is the contentment?

I know you probably won’t ever see this Tyson but thank you so much. I have just come through a massive depression which climaxed with a month of the most awful anxiety which ended with me slumped over the steering wheel of my van ,crying uncontrollably and my son trying to comfort me whilst in tears too. Hearing you go through exactly the same feelings as helped reinforce that it is a cruel disease that can hurt anyone. I drank to ease the pain. I cared about nothing and nothing wetted my appetite for life. I have now, with help and using the methods you describe, turned the corner and a month later feel alive again. I am now in the process of helping my father who is 80 and is going through the same emotional rollercoaster. He is exercising everyday and this video will help him so much. Thank you A friend

Good money, got my own house, but all i can think about is fighting. Thank you for this podcast, you are a brave and inspirational man Mr Fury and I can only hope to reach peace the way you have.
