The undisputed heavyweight fight is almost upon us! Does Usyk have what it takes, considering the size disparity? Or will Fury's size and unorthodox style prove even too much for him?

UPDATE* Hope you enjoy everyone! Let me know your thoughts in the comments? Unfortunately, I had to change quite a bit of the footage to get up on KZfaq due to copyright and had to use screenshots in some sections. FURTHER UPDATE* Once again unfortunately, I received some more copyright claims after uploading the version that included Fury Wilder 3 clips. Therefore, I had to trim those out. In case the flow seems off, I wanted to clarify that the removed clips contained the content that I was referring to in my previous statements. see below 05:00 - creating hesitation on whether to commit or not. (Fury's opponents) 09:06 - Now as seen in the past Fury has taken a far more direct route attack vs Wilder…etc 20:24 - If Fury does decide to put the pressure on and look clinch and capitalize on the inside. Usyk needs to avoid these potential entanglements here. My Original version and untouched version is available on my Patreon which you can watch for FREE with the trial: www.patreon.com/posts/fury-vs-usyk-97484410?Link&

Just dont bet your whole house in hopes of Usyk beating Tyson. Tyson is NOT AJ. He is far more skilled who knows how to use his size. He knows when to box and when to rough things up. Tyson has been known to slack when he isnt motivated for the opposition. But you get the feeling that for all the marbles, he’ll get up for this fight. Training clips already show he’s sharpening up his footwork and moving extremely well. He isnt concerned about Usyk’s power, because it wont be Wilder’s nuke (which he survived). Tyson is focusing on movements so that Usyk wont be able to finesse him. One last thing; Tyson’s jab isnt AJ’s pushing jab.
@makingwaves1239
@makingwaves1239 3 ай бұрын
Tyson Fury fought an almost 40 year old Wladimir that had clearly seen his best days. Then he had his trilogy fights with Wilder, a boxer that has mediocre boxing skills at best, poor stamina and literary no foot movement at all. Those three fights Fury considered as the hardest fights in his career. That says it all. The rest of his resume is mostly against list fillers. Now he will fight a really good boxer, with good foot movement, and a steady high punch output that he usually can keep going for 12 straight rounds. Tyson Fury also has been quite a few times on the canvas. And for each time he gets knocked down, it will be easier to knock him down the next time. Tyson Fury actually has a low punch output, and if he can't knock out Usyk, he really need to step his game up considerably if he want to win rounds.

Spot on. If Tyson looks as sloppy as he did in Wilder 3 or against Francis, he loses. I think the best Tyson beats the best Usyk7/10. This is Fury’s legacy fight. Is he the greatest of this era or a paper tiger? I seriously do not know yet.

Wlad wasn't that far past his best look at the fight he gave AJ over 18 months later with ring rust. And it's the way he beat Wilder he totally destroyed him in that second fight. You're just playing it down like most if you do. If he beats Usyk what will your excuses be then.

And once again I need to remind people: Tyson Fury is not 7ft tall and he is not 6'9 but yes he might be a bit taller than Anthony Joshua. 6'6 and for comparison, AJ is around 250lbs and Fury around 270lb.s. Look at them. Where is that extra 15lbs? We don't really need to speculate too much anymore because by now we've had three different 'Face-Offs' with Fury and Usyk. Does the size difference look THAT MUCH? No it does not. Did anyone feel like 'Whao... david vs Goliath up there!'. No. Oh Fury is bigger yes but just like Usyk vs AJ nobody found it SO great to even think about it much in the actual fights. and again, Fury is not actually 6'9 (or now 7ft tall in his latest updates). Usyk is way taller than people seem to think. He's a good 6'3 and comes in a now solid 222lbs lean.
@Lemon9234
@Lemon9234 3 ай бұрын
Overall agree with your point. That said, the height difference is only 4-5”, but reach is 7-8”. Not crazy lopsided, but it’s something, especially considering AJ’s brightest points were when he jabbed often and kept Usyk at range. Fury has a good jab and could potentially do that better and more consistently. That 50 lbs could also be big if the refs allow Fury to lean and use his weight the way he likes to (I hope they discourage it though, not a big fan). And for the record, Fury’s extra 15 lbs are around his love handles 🤣
@topsuperseven7910
@topsuperseven7910 3 ай бұрын
@@Lemon9234 I' also wondering how much Fury gets away with laying his weight on Usyk. If he can do that it can change the way that entire fight goes. I think Usyk is ready for that but I hope it stays a fast moving standup bout not something where Fury shoves and lays weight over and over :(

The arrogant loud mouth persona is all an act to sell the fight and push the other fighters buttons. I think Tyson is a nice enough fella outside the fight game. AS a brit I hope he can defeat Usyk, but I fear Usyks movement will be too much for him and foresee a points victory for the ukranian.

Excellent break-down video Jamie...If Fury brings his A-game, i think he will get the late stoppage, his size, strength and reach are the decisive factors for me(Yes) usyk is an elite operator with the faster hands and footwork, but if fury uses overall size and awkwardness he can close down the distance and space and really make it difficult for usyk to manoeuvre and get into his rhythm... There seems to be a-lot of fury haters out here(No suprises) but i like both fighters and im going to be impartial on this one..many people are discrediting furys performances and behaviours over the last several years, say what you want about the gypsy king, he is not where he is at by accident, he is where he is at on merit and by his natural raw abilities that are god-given and cannot always be taught but honed..Dont forget fury has been in the Hw game longer than usyk, it may not be a huge advantage but that experience alone could play a-part(just to emphasize)if fury doesn't turn up and usyk does, likewise fury will have a very long and tiring evening trying to compete with usyks stamina and movement(Either way) it will be a very intriguing build-up, fight and a close call 🥊

Much appreciated Jon! Yeah I agree with most of your points here. For me it's how capable Usyk can close the gap and get off his own punches vs Fury. Considering his huge size. Usyk's closing the gap, movement and ability to not get tied up will be key.

6:00 can’t wait for this fight bc I can’t disagree with this enough. It worked on wilder even former cruisers like Cunningham. Usyk’s command of the marginal fighting area between HIS range and clinch will be on point this fight. For fury to get to bully Usyk, he has to walk into that range thus nullifying fury’s physical advantages. That’s a mistake. Usyk will know how to maximize his time fighting at that critical range and he has the gas tank to stay in it every time Tyson elects to forfeit his advantages. Imagine if you will Tyson entering range to attempt to bully, Usyk cutting off the ring and turning him toward a corner, not even backing him up just using his footwork to guide the fight, and then Tyson spending the remainder of the round trying to step back out of the danger range to his own jab range. Every step backward Tyson takes should he fail to close that gap, Usyk will undoubtedly claim that space. Not only will this optically be a bad look for judging and ring generalship, but it will require Tyson to use a great deal of energy re-establishing range . All the while Usyk can punch moving forward which he’s EXCELLENT at. Fact is there’s only one fighter to ever have even a single judge award someone other than Usyk a victory when it was in their hands. And that was AJ II. You’ll recall AJ’s vastly better game plan establishing his jab staying off the line and only coming in when he had room to exit. Usyk still managed to pepper him when he got tunnel vision. But it was a much better showing. If Tyson plans to just waltz into Usyk’s range, the Ukrainian will welcome that with open arms. It’s less damage for him. Remember the guys fury lays on aren’t giving him a lot back by then.

Only way Fury wins is by making it a dirty fight. Fury cant outbox Usyk and with how Usyk is always upping the tempo through the rounds, Fury wont be able to keep up with that. He has to from round 1 make it dirty, hold, lean on him, hit him on the breaks, low blows when the ref is on the other side of the southpaw vs orthodox and Rabbit punching then yes Fury will certainly win but never in a clean fight. Usyk wins that all day.

It will be a great fight. It depends on Fury's training....if he isn't more fit he will be embarrassed. No one can truly predict the outcome. I believe Usyk's acceptance of being on the short side of a 70 30 split shows hes eyeing the belts and Fury the purse. Tell me then, who wants what more? Usyk won't be whats expected... he'll have strengthened his punch power and his core.... his supposed weakness in the body is now the bait... he said at one presser that he's been training for this fight since he joined the Heavyweight class...long term plan... Hitler was thinking that his threat was Patton and he missed Normandy.... I think this supposed weakness is a ruse. We'll see on the 17th.

He'll have a strategy, he's also fought since he's been young...fighter family even. I like Fury... I didn't like the trash talk...it made him look stupid and arrogant. Beyond selling tickets... Trust me I've watched this before, but I never left how I think it will go. Usysk's footwork is Fury's biggest problem, not because of the "weak-side angle", Usyk is a fighter who understands how to "inch" inside and outside of punch range. This factor alone will make it incredibly difficult for Fury to see the Left hand. I believe Fury's struggled with these smaller fighters (likable to cruiserweights) due to a depth perception. That and Usyk's feint game is insane.

If Fury had to face near parity size opponents early in his career his career would have been over before he got to 12 pro bouts. He's not even top 20 P4P ..and not in the top 20 all time heavyweights. If he had to compete in any other weight class than heavyweight, where size parity and competitive talent is a thing, he'd have more losses than wins.

In Usyk's case, his defensive skills are crucial. He can react quickly against enemy attacks, while maintaining a low risk of being hit. It's not only a matter of speed or agility, but also perfect technique and understanding fighting rhythm. As for Joshua, his preparation for the Usyk fight was commendable. However, focusing on downward attacks was not enough to break down the Ukrainian's defense. This shows that the fight with Usyk requires not only physical skills, but also a tactical approach and flexibility in strategy. Now, with the big fight between Tyson and Usyk approaching, it's worth wondering whether Tyson's strategy will work.

Usyk put on Weight for this fight weighing in at 232. Tyson trimmed downed to 262. I believe that for all intent and purpose this will be a tactical match that will be slow on action and result to a split decision for Tyson. I think Tysons strategy will be to win this fight at distance with that eight inch reach advantage and will probably throw a thousand jabs by the time compu box tallies up the numbers. This is going to frustrate Usyk , and will cause him to rush in At times in order to get his combinations to score. Tyson will be sitting in the pocket waiting for him to do so. To me, this will be a masterclass replicating one of the greatest heavyweight champs in history who was the master and the perfectionist of the jab….. Larry Holmes.

Everyone in media seems to be writing off Fury but when he comes in the ring focused, he is nearly impossible to beat. Usyk is a great fighter but he is WAY smaller with a much smaller reach. Fury is going to hang all over him in the fight, tire him out and wear him down. Fury has a SEVEN inch reach advantage too which is a lot of range to cover. Should be a very interesting fight.

The fight has a rematch clause . And all though I don’t think Fury is ready for this just yet there is nothing stopping him getting paid by not coming out for the second half of the fight due to injury . . It’s the championship rounds that Usyk will show his level . An exceptional elite level boxer . Some call his style the rabbit 🐇 and to beat him you gotta set traps by being where he’s gonna be …NOT where he is because he’s already gone . And for that you gotta be elite level fit - something Fury hasn’t been for some time . His change in style has beat lesser opponents with ease because the truth is they haven’t been in the same class as Klitschko was . . . So for this fight I’d take the money and weigh up the rabbit . . Then for the rematch and be fit enough and wise enough to skin him !

Be interesting to know how many southpaws Usyk has actually fought and study this trap . And as for Saudi - with Tyson’s height and range he can sit on that back foot all night and get paid but I feel the later rounds will need a level of fitness taught in a different way - so pull the plug and get paid !!! . Reminds me to watch hagler v Hearns again - Marvin switched like Chisora did with so so much aggression that he destroyed Tommy . +

A rematch will most definitely happen in my opinion because Usyk won’t expect a different fighter and I genuinely think when Fury sets his mind to something with focus and dedication - he can beat Usyk across the sand dunes of Saudi just like Hagler did to Hearns . . . My prediction is it will be a stand offish first round, then getting increasingly scrappy. I'm expecting some dirty tactics, a cut and possibly a point deduction along the way. Usyk will probably up the gears in round 8/9 which is where the most damage will be done to Fury. Difficult to call a winner though. I'd have usyk either winning on points or via stoppage from the ref or Fury's corner.

Tyson Fury have not fought a real boxer in many years now, only east hitble targets with no footwork, power reliable and limited ring skills. Fury has slowed down considerably and can't any longer use light fetes more then 1-2 rounds and his volume of punches has also dropped just as much. Fury have always been dependent on his weight to land his power punches and that with his slow-down will not help against a solid and skilled boxer. Fury has also never had an easy time in the ring against even a decent south-paw boxer, now he is facing a great south-paw boxer who also can move in difficult angles and throw + land unexpected punches in good volumes. Fury's only chance to win will be using his incredible mass and reach combined with ugly/illegal tactics = not winning as a boxer. Let's say (and I hope) we have a very strict ring referee in there match, then that referee will not allow Fury to go on with all his usual dirty fighting, including: 1. Holding & punching, 2. Locking opponents arm and punching meanwhile, 3. Leaning over opponent to put his weight & mass over opponent repeatedly, 4. Pushing opponent while punching at same time. What will Fury do then? Oleander Usyk is more motivated, more disciplined, more dedicated and hungry for having a REAL legacy. Being the 2nd man ever to become undisputed cruiser weight champion and undisputed heavyweight champion - including the first non- American born to accomplish it.

Usyk has proven throughout his career at any weight that he cannot handle body punches. Usyk is very lean in the midsection. Fury will slow Usyk down with the body punches. Also the third man in the ring the referee will favor Tyson. Tyson will lean his 270 pounds on Usyks smaller frame. Tyson will also give Usyk the illegal forearm and throw a punch over it. Tyson has done this effectly in almost every fight. Tyson could get knocked down. But he always rebounds right away and makes adjustments right away. A sign of a great fighter. When Tyson got knocked down, It was against bigger heavyweights than Usyk. Usyk could not even knockout A.J.. Who I believe has a glass jaw.
