The 2000 Shell Championship Series was an Australian motor racing series open to V8 Supercars.
The championship, which was the second Shell Championship Series, began on 11 February at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and ended on 19 November at the Mount Panorama Circuit after 13 rounds.
Here is round 6 from Canberra ACT, as shown on Channel 10.

Interesting street course and concept. The races were a lot more fun than the narrow layout might've made me expect them to be. Kind of a shame that they only went there for three years.

Never went but is was good to have V8 Supercars race in the Capital city of Australia ever if it was only from 2000 to 2002...

Oastler and Rust explain during the commentary, during their compulsory stops the teams had to 'change' tyres, but some teams felt the tyres they had were still fine to carry on. So taking the wheels off, laying them flat on the ground for a second then putting them back on the hub still counted as a tyre change. Odd I know. 😆 Most likely to do with the cold weather and not wanting to swap hot tyres with plenty of life left for stone cold ones.

Was part of the regs at the time. You had to do a tyre stop, putting the same tyre back on was technically fine.
