@@chrisdvine That's more to do with lightning vs actual rain. If the umpire crew doesn't view that the lightening will move a safe enough distance away within a certain time frame they'll rule a rain delay.

An intense match. For those who don't know,, high school baseball attracts many fans in Japan and is popular akin to college football in the US. Japan is always a tough opponent to play at their home in baseball. They make you work hard to win it. Great job from the American high schoolers. 🇯🇵🇺🇲👊🏼

MLB playoffs have fantastic atmospheres. Hard to get it in regular season games because so many games makes it feel like they don't matter as much.

usa gets a break on 2 calls with pratto not being called on the balk pick off and the play at the plate might show safe with replay. japan outhits the u.s. but make one mistake by having their pitcher throw the ball away to 3rd and good teams will make you pay. good hard fought win and great game on crazy playing conditions. i don't think we will ever see that much support in an amateur tournament here.
