SSGT Little prepared a cadence for his first graduating flight. Flight 120 graduated on January 28, 2011 from Lackland Air Force Base, TX.

I don't know why the civis laughed at the "I love him and he loves me." line, it's true. They'd gladly lay down their lives for their trainees without a second thought, if that's not love I don't know what is. I'll never forget my MTI

As Luke Elementary Principal, I served the children whose parents were stationed at LAFB in Glendale, AZ. During that time, SSGT Little was my 6th grade student. Words cannot express how proud I am of his success in the USAF. He is a wonderful man, a terrific human being, and I have all the respect in the world for him. (I did cry during this!) For those of you who are ignorant about America's freedoms, it's men like SSGT Little and Flight 120-and all flights-who continue to keep our country safe..and to preserve those freedoms ignorant people take for granted every single day. For those of you who posted trash comments, shame on you. Freedom of speech is one such freedom these men and women preserve-we're a democracy. God Bless every American Soldier stationed throughout the world. LET FREEDOM RING!!!

The civilians do not comprehend nor are they able to understand. BMT creates a person of great character with strengths the young people are proud to feel as they finish the close comraderee that's built in a flight. Tight knit, bonded unit. Congrats! You all did quite well! Thanks for your time, energy, and spirit. Bless you you as you make your way into the wild blue yonder!

When I went through BMT for USAF, they did this cadence for us in the last week before graduation. Sent chills over everyone in my flight and we loved it so much that we asked for our MTI to say it again. By far my favorite cadence. Tells a story. A heartfelt story of the bond that forms. Guide on 187, Shine on 187.

So, all of the Air Force graduation groups have songs like this about their own drill instructors? If so, it seems a little arrogant for the individual D.I. to take such credit for so much of the recruits actions and future actions and the misleading notion that their boot camp D.I. will have anything to do with them after they leave basic training. It really boasts up the USAF Drill Instructor at graduation.....If that's what the Air Force wants to do, then carry the fuck on, but it seems pretty arrogant, self-serving, and unrealistic. When these recruits leave basic training, Sgt. Little will have fuckin Little influence on them!!!!....Let alone "boxing them up" and "sending them home".

Our MTI's sang this Jodie with us on our last day with them. It was a bitter sweet moment with many of us feeling both relief and sadness that BMT was over. I agree that the civilians in the video should not be laughing and respect what the lyrics mean For most of us we come to respect our MTI's and them asking us to "guide on" is their final order to us as a flight. To the brothers in my flight, guide on 021!

When I was in, right at the end of the Vietnam era, I was issued 1505 khaki uniforms. We were strictly forbidden to call a cadence. When we were on the back of the base with no one around to hear, one of our TIs called cadence a couple of times. We also did not have a public presentation with family watching. Challenge coins didn't exist. We only had a parade with the whole Wing in marching formation down the inactive runway, "The Bomb Run."

@Truly1Tom2 жыл бұрын
The civilians laugh because they're feeling awkward in an unfamiliar place and situation. They've no clue or point of reference to understand what the vibe is between the flight and the MTI. They don't realize that these young men have gone through a rite of passage. That will forever leave them changed till their dying day. God bless 🙏 all who've dedicated 🙏 🙌 themselves to serve and you're forever a part of a fraternity and a community of former servicemen and women.

"With the exception of the Gideon, Element Leaders, and Dorm Chief, If your taller than the Airman in front of you, tap them on the shoulder and move forward now". This is a directive given to dress the unit by height so that the flight is arranged with the tallest airmen to the front and right-most of the unit when facing in the direction of the Element Leaders and Gideon (00:07).

I know you posted this long ago, but reading it I was triggered to make an observation. I served in the US Army from 1981-84 and all marching columns had the shortest at the right front going taller to the back. The exceptions were the squad leaders at the head of the column, the guide-on and sometimes the roadguards. their reasoning (rightly so I might add) was that if the taller recruits set a longer pace, the vertically challenged would have to jog to keep up. That is until the DI came up when we had reverse marched to tell us nicely to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN MAGGOTS !!!!!!!!
@daniels49233 жыл бұрын
We did this jody during our march to graduation on March 11, 2021. I was road guard and I remember as the jody continued, pride was just swelling and I teared up. Our BMT was weird (because of COVID and the freak Texan snowstorm) but 324 TRS FLT 250 will always be family.

If you've never worn the blue you wouldn't get it as one who has. I speak as an alum who went through what they referred to as "Happy Valley USA" back in the day. I went through Air Force Basic back in 1980 at Lackland AFB. I know what I experienced as a brand new AB (Airman Basic) and each service members story is utterly unique to the individual. For those fortunate to have their families at graduation I salute them. For those that didn't like myself I cut them a little slack. In this instance of this graduation I chalk what levity derived by the people present at the airmen's expense due to a lack of understanding of the bond which developed during the grueling time spent in Basic Training.
