Forrest Lewis plays the codgery deputy in this episode (standing w/rifle beside his '49 Chevy.) 12:28 and later at home 17:32 Pretty funny. Appeared in dozens of TV shows in the '50s and '60s, and a few movies like the Absent Minded Professor. Although he's cast as an old timer, he's not even 60 years old in this episode.

Michael Landon was hot stuff back in his heyday. Very James Dean-ish.

Big guy ought to be embarrassed he started a fight with someone three times SMALLER, and gets clobbered.

I don't recall this show from my childhood but am grateful to BJ's Records and Nostalgia for posting them. I really enjoy these old shows like this. I do have a question and don't know if anyone can answer it for me. The shoulder holster that Bromfield wears, what the heck is that thing? I have worn quite a few shoulder rigs in my life and NEVER saw one that would work without another strap that went over and around the shoulder on the opposite side of the holster. Even with a belt loop, what keeps this thing from slipping off of his left shoulder when sitting or making other moves? Other observations: Old TV shows such as Andy Griffith and now (I see) this one, it was fashionable for them to bend the long whip antenna for the car's two-way radio over. In reality, this made performance of the radio poor or non-existent. If an insulated "catch" were used to hold the end of the whip down were used, performance would be poor due in part to making the antenna radiate horizontally rather than vertically, as they are designed to do for those systems. If the antenna touched body metal, it would effectively short out the antenna, severely reducing range and possibly harming the transmitter.

So this is where Law & Order got it's plotlines. Everything old is new again.
