NAH!!! Burroughs beat Dake for a full decade and Dake was never that great - look what happened in Tokyo - he got dismantled 11-0 in only the second round and then the guy that beat him didn't even take the gold. There are 10 weight classes in the World's and only 6 in the Olympics. You can't duck the really good guys like Dake did in NCAA and in 2016 when he tried to go up in weight to avoid Burroughs and J'Den Cox waxed his butt. Dake was a great folkstyle wrestler - strong and well conditioned. He just never leveled up to the Olympic level. If Burroughs hadn't shattered his ankle and lost his speed edge he would still be schooling Dake.

Ok. Dake clearly won the match but freestyle really annoys me with the quick passivity calls. Matches shouldn’t come down to who the ref thinks is being more aggressive, they call it way faster than stalling in college

Nolf now has a time to realize he’s likely beat one of the best wrestlers in the world to lose to Dake. He has an opportunity to walk away and practice and be seen in 4 years before the next Olympics as one of the best. Nolf in this match was not the same as he was against Burroughs. He was passive and Dake ate him up I don’t like how the comment of “they see eachother in the wrestling room” is a factor in any college I’ve walked into the most hungry win. The one who knows the other persons move set and and you know theirs the one who is the most hungry wins. If Nolf was this passive against Burroughs Burroughs woulda ate him up but it was contrary, Burroughs got more passive than Nolf! Well done Dake represent America greatly.

@crumman4299
@crumman4299 11 күн бұрын
@@FredrickHoxinville I’d agree to a point but I also disagree. If you go out there to wrestle your body needs to be there to compete. I think his body is there and he could have done it. I think it’s the whole mental factor is where he lost… that and the ref had a hard on against Burroughs.

@crumman4299 if that was true Primes wouldn't exist and J'den Cox losing to Moore when he would have easily beat someone like him in his heyday would imply Moore would have beat Cox back then aswell

Having wrestled in high school and 4 years in college I have to say I really don't like the current freestyle rules. I guess stepout points are like sumo wrestling. Whatever. But arbitrary and subjective passivity points are ridiculous and endless timeouts for coaches challenges ruin the sport.
