@@wheatgrowssweet You may have been thinking of a couple different things. 1) Most of Yugoslavia was formed from former Austro-Hungarian states after WWI. 2) After WW2, Yugoslavia became a communist state, but was never part of the USSR, and actually split from the Soviets entirely in 1948, asking the US for assistance while remaining communist ( or more specifically, Titoist).

Spoiler alert: It's great to see this new, refreshed Victoria! It's clear and evident that her practice with The Chase and trivia quizzing has paid off mightily for her, and she's definitely a much stronger player now than she was in her first appearance on Jeopardy. With several other amazing contestants this tourney It's difficult to say whether or not she'll win, but she's certainly in contention! I kinda hope we get a long-awaited David and Victoria rematch in the semis... Would be nice to see!

It should be easy, but then we have to quickly try to rearrange everything in alphabetical order _and_ write the answer down in question form during the 30 seconds. Not an easy task.

I think the finals are scheduled as part of the entertainment connected to the 2028 Olympics in LA with the final match as part of the Closing Ceremonies. And people think the soccer World Cup is a long tournament.

They started to bring back past constants from years ago, reusing old questions due to the writers strike but not sure why they are still doing it

It's the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament _ JIT. The first part was for contestants that scored well but didn't win - 2nd chance opportunity. Now it's the contestants that won, competing for the finals.

I went with Ukraine. Then I thought Yugoslavia, but realized it was part of the iron curtain, but not a Soviet republic; so, I went back to Ukraine... oh, well 😶

@@ZdzichuWiertara96 Great comment. Felt the same way. But got to Turkmenistan early enough to go through all the Central Asian states in time. But definitely a good 20 seconds of disappointment with myself first, for sure.
