It's sad that she was sold, she is the victim and i feel for that. But this story sounds more like regret. She regrets never loving her husband. Regardless of how they ended up married, she only remembers how much she hated her husband no matter how nice or how much he loved her. Because he felt guilty for forcing her to marry and stay in the marriage, he did not expect her to love him. He was the one always doing everything in the marriage.
