I’m not a farmer or a rancher, just a small (really small) scale hobby gardener. Somehow I stumbled onto the regen-ag videos on KZfaq. HOLY MOLY! My eyes have been opened. Gave Brown is right up there with Joel for charismatic speakers. Y’all are awesome!

I've been practicing this in an urban yard. It all applies at any scale and climate.

I'm liking what I'm learning in this videos. I've been driving a big rig and been learning a new field to do for a living.

I like Allan Williams videos, but Gabe Brown is one of my favorite speakers.

As a retired Wisconsin dairy farmer, I have sheds full of equipment. It is all paid for, and it is all pretty much worthless to sell. That is my context. I have heard the "sell all your equipment" song before. Bullshit! I do most all my own maintenance and this stuff is not depreciating, it is all depreciated out. It can sit in the shed as long as I am around, just in case. Otherwise, I enjoy Gabe's presentations, and Regen has gotten me excited about farming again!

Have you given any thought to using the equipment to give lessons to people who have never been near heavy equipment, much less used heavy equipment? It would be necessary to check with an insurance agent about liability insurance for hands on lessons. It might also help to talk to a pilot to find out how the academics works for ground school. Then come up with an academic program appropriate to handling heavy farm equipment. I read a book years ago entitled The Farming Game. I forget the author's name. At the end, he mentioned that he had seen more farms fail because of lack of mechanical aptitude than for any other reason. I have zero mechanical aptitude. So, I decided to just stick with small scale gardening. Disappointing as it was to admit, it was the right decision to not go into farming. Because, there just wasn't any one around to teach the skill sets for heavy equipment.

As far as education I personally would recommend the Soil Food Web organization founded by Dr Elaine Engham

Are you aware of "Farm Basics #1029 The Pros And Cons Of No-Till" by AgPhD? The cons of "no- till"? They attempted to answer a comment about why they aren't listening to experts like Gabe Brown. I thought their video was somewhat bullshitty.
