The installation in our Vans RV-7 was quite straightforward with successful connection to the Dynon Skyview (via serial NMEA9600 connection) to receive GPS position and route info. As well as to PilotAware (via wifi GDL90 connection) to receive traffic info.
The AV-30 is an impressive unit with a lot of functionality in a small package. It provides a major upgrade over a conventional ASI as a backup to the main Skyview EFIS. In the UK the LAA (experimental aircraft) has approved the AV-30-E as a backup to a EFIS so no mechanical ASI is required.
