Ninakaw na credit card umano ang gamit ng isang babae sa kaniyang shopping spree. Umabot sa P70,000 ang kaniyang pinamili.
Sa nakakilala sa suspect, maaaring makipag-ugnayan sa numerong ito: 8372-1725 - Masambong police.

IMO, hindi po natin lagi kakampi ang merchants at bangko natin, the more delays sa pag stop ng credit card natin, the more commission sa merchants at bangko habang may gumagamit ng credit card whether legit or illegal.

BrixxTV Credit card build credit history. So when you buy big purchases you dont have to bring large amount of money. Its help also when buying car or real estate dahil your credit history Determined kung dpat kang pautangin Unless you dont have any of The above. You dont need anything. Keep your debit card.

itong credit card ko sinubukan ko sa SM MALL nong binigay ko hinihingi yung pin code habang pinipindot ko yung code tinatabunan ko yung kamay at sabi ko sa cashier hwag tumingin habang pindot ko yung pin code at sabi nya sa akin hindi basta manakaw, at sabi ko sa kanya kpag mg pindot ng code tabunan ng isang kamay malay mo yung nakatayo sa likod mo tinitignan yung pg pindot mo ng number

Kami bilang isang Cashier, pag credit Card yung ginamit nag customer hinihingan namin yan ng Valid ID.

Dapat mga cards must have picture printed on the card. Noon araw Yun credit card ko meron, pero nag mag renew ako inalis Na Nila.

So it’s very terrifying to own a credit card here in the Philippines because you have no way to immediately block the card and the thief can enjoy ransacking all the credit available in your card leaving you with mountains of debt to pay.

One reason why I don't use anymore a credit card. That time I had one I didn't put my signature at the back of the card..after the purchase I show my valid id. Also I separate my id with the card just incase coz its scary.

This is why valid IDs should be needed or pin codes. It may be a bit of a hassle but it'll save us from these thieves

Not really. Card readers are getting smarter each day. My card is pin code only (I assumed?) but when I travelled to some other countries, the merchants just tapped my card and I was surprised because my card is supposed to be NOT tappable. I particularly asked my bank issuer not to make it tappable. But I have no idea how to hack a card like that. So it's not fool-proof. Regarding IDs, merchants want to make business so they don't want to get bothered asking for an ID. EDIT: it's a Canada-issued card.

@@SingleAndAlmostBrokeinSurrey that's fine in other countries (tap/swipe without verification) because the banks there will refund the money stolen but in the philippines, the banks don't care. If the government or whoever has the power to make rules will require establishments to check for ids every transaction, then the establishments will follow (at least to some degree). I know it's a bit inconvenient but I'm alright with that knowing there's another step of security. And hopefully the banks in the philippines will also give that insurance and refund the stolen money. If only 😞

The problem in this case is the thief has also stolen the wallet containing valid IDs so she can present them if asked. 😢

Naging cashier ako pero need talaga ang valid I'd pag tumaas ng 5,000 ang babayaran ni costumer. Very wrong yung cashier nasa protocol as a cashier na required mong hingin ang valid iD ni costumer. For safety sa mga froud kagaya nyan.

Sa Maynila kasi they don't bother na to ask for an ID. Sa province mas strict talaga ang mga cashier. They always ask for an ID when customers pay via card.

Dapat naman talaga..before alam ko ganon ung ginagawa ng halos lahat ng store na tumatanggap ng credit card for safety reason. Now kc wala na silang pakialam basta may benta. sinisingil nila ung credit company bayad sila kaya deadma na ibang store kung kaninong credit card un sina swipe

I think the woman has the owner’s ID cuz she took the whole purse thats why she was confident to use the credit card. Lalo na ngayon, after mong mabigay ang ID sa kanila, di man lang sila makaisip na ipatanggal ang facemask kung ikaw bga ba ang nasa ID o hindi. Kagaya nyan, ..

I remember credit cards used to have the card holders id photo in the early 2000s. They should bring those back for added security.

This is so sad for the card holder. Here in the U.S. not only do they take a swift action to freeze it, but also the banks, my bank, takes the losses if my card is stolen. That’s part of the deal in getting their credit card. I wish they have the same system in place in the Philippines. I wonder why this is so hard to do.

dito sa US mismong legit online or in person purchases ko, nagugulat nalang ako di gumagana ang card ko tapos may tumatawag sa phone ko or text - yung bank ko, tinatanong kung legit purchase ko yung mga yun. dito pag hindi mo usual na binibilihan or hindi usual lugar ang bibilhan mo or any small suspicious activity, magugulat ka nalang automatically flagged yung transaction. sa pinas kasi lahat mabagal.

@@boostmobile5712 Kahit mahirap ang isang bansa, kung pagiigihin ang trabaho, gaganda ang sistema. Ang problema sa atin panay tayo taas ng bangko na masipag tayo, word-class ang sipag ng mga Pilipino, pero sa totoo lang maraming Pinoy ang petiks. Kaya hanggang ngayon ay mahirap tayong bansa. Hindi dahilan ang kahirapan para hindi magkaron ng magandang sistema.

Nagwork ako sa bpo company sa us credit cards tawag agad sila samin para makagreport agad na lost yung card then agad naming ibblock basta tama yung info nila ibibigay.. 😊😊😊

Sa dami ng pinamili, baka may vehicle. Wala bang CCTV sa parking para makuha yung plaka? Bukod sa membership data ng SnR na dapat i-check. Most likely lagi dun siya namimili sa Congressional branch. Diba nanunuod ng Detective Conan ang mga pulis? Hahaha

This is the kind of system a lot of people in the Phillipines often has to face specially in this particular incident. Where in some other countries banks offers apps on your mobile phone where you could easily access your account also instantly block your card incase you’ve lost it or stolen.

That's very true po. Here in UK, we can call our bank 24/7 to stop the card payments immediately. And the bank calls the depositor immediately if they noticed that large amount is being used in one day.

Credit card owner should receive transaction confirmation message first and should be shown to the cashier before any successful transaction (the same message can be forwarded to the card user if its with consent).

I was also a victim 18 years ago. One of the two delivery guys stole my wallet that sitting on my kitchen counter. Didn’t realized it was stolen until all my three credit card companies call me about some suspicious purchases using my three credit cards. Just for three hours they spent over $5000. Because it is a fraudulent transactions, I’m not obliged to pay but the credit card insurance company will covers it. It’s just the trauma and the big hassle to replacing a few federal IDs.

Merchants must ask for a valid ID if the customer is paying via credit card. That's the only way to prevent the thief from using the cc.

My mom is also a victim, same story, and sadly, she has to pay for all the purchases (as it was a bank regulation once the card was swiped) Though the lady (yes, she is a lady) was caught red handed amd was detained at the police station. The next day she bailed with a certain amount. Leaving my mother (a senior) to shoulder all the purchases. 😞

Biktima din ang papa ko ng ganun in the early 2000 ata yun. Over 25k pinamili ng nagnakaw ng credit card niya. Yung papa pa ang kinasuhan ng bangko and threatening him to pay at sinisiraan pa siya sa opisina. Same day na nawala credit card niya nag report siya sa bangko na i block ito pero obviously it took awhile for it to be blocked kasi ang daming nabili ng nagnakaw. 25k back then is alot of money those days.

Grabe dyan sa PI. Ang card dito sa England pwede mo agad ma block online pag nawala mo. Or call kaagad sa bank kase 24hrs sila then block din nila agad. Wala ng proce-proceso. Mga call agents from the Philippines ang sumasagot sa amin dito.😂 . Kawawa yung andyan sa Pinas,pangit ng serbisyo. 😭

Calling the bank for canceling the credit card should be easy ! And once there’s a illegal transactions call the bank who issued the card so they can dispute it

Sana din maging mahigpit din ang nasa cashier kailangan nila hingian ang valid id ng gumagamit ng credit card para hindi basta basta nalang maibibili ang mga ninakaw na credit card kawawa yun nanakawan pag nagpa lock ng card ang dami pa hihingiin sa kanya na information sa hotline,pero yun nagnakaw basta iniabot sa teller yun card swipe agad

mga establishment pag around 1,500 and less,hindi na nagpasign usually, tama yun comment since pag mataas ang amount ng purchased, hihingi ng ID, yun lang hindi naman tinitingnan yun picture sa ID at yun fake buyer in this case,

Here in Canada the moment you reported your card is lost or stolen they’ll block it right away and any transactions that has been done since your last own transaction will be refunded

Any establishment where the purchase is conducted by anyone with credit card should require an ID for the consumers verification thereby avoiding this incident. The law in the Philippines is so different from here in he States wherein any illegal transaction that was reported by the credit card owner is attended immediately and a new card is issued plus the amount used in the credit card is reimbursed by the bank. Even on line scam is addressed fast. I had that experience, so I can say.

With the shopping places that the suspect went to, i believe there should have all the cctv in place to track the suspect as to where or which transport she end up riding to track her down. Its really a matter of investigation.

Here in America we have the number specially for stolen or missing cards and the card owners is not responsible for the charges that been stolen with police report

kawawa naman. Sayang pwede niyo sana i-deactivated online ang credit cards or debit cards basta mag register ng online banking. Mag set din ng limit for daily transactions. And dapat may PIN or OTP. Sana mahuli ang magnanakaw na yan.

Over here in the USA, it’s very easy all you need is to call the bank and inform them to close the card then they closed it right away so the thief can not use it.

There is really something wrong with the PH banking system. In North America, once you called and report to your bank that your credit cards were stolen automatically they will blocked and cancel your cards. All they will ask is your name, etc. that match in your profile. The bank should not penalize the client for their inefficiency. Lesson learned here, why put so many credit cards in your wallet when you can only use one? Leave the rest at home.

The merchants should be held liable for negligence. This way cashiers/staff who handled the sale will be more careful and diligent no matter what is the amount. Sadly SM Department Stores in my personal experience, mostly do not as for identification of cardholder for a certain amount. Ako pa ang mag iinsist na humingi sila ng i.d.

Dati po ganun...humihingi sila ng ID kapag nag purchase using CC or Debiting sa ATM Savings Account. Parang ningas kugon ang kanilang naging systema kasi as what I said these merchants are looking for to increase their sales & income. Wala silang pakialam kung nakaw or what ang status ng CC na pinepresent sa kanila na pambili. Ngayong may nangyari na naman ng ganyan sigurado magkukumahog na naman ang mga merchants na ito through their teller/cashiers na humingi ng ID. Ang Pinas nga naman.

In the US, u can block the card immediately thru the credit/debit card apps or when u call the toll free number there should be an option to cut all transactions immediately

Sa other countries like Singapore mabilis lang mg pa block ng credit card this helps lara di magamit yung card ng magnanankaw or makapulot. We really need to change our process sa pinas dating pag dadaanan muna and account holder to perform such transaction.

Here in america all credit cards and debit card has their own apps that you can use to lock all your cards by just pressing a one button if your card got stolen or you misplaced it accidentally.

Not only in the phils, pati din sa ibang bansa. Di talaga mabilis pag block ng card especially pag over the phone lang. Need pa din ng verification to ensure na kayo talaga yung may-ari ng card. Para din po yan sa security nf card owners. Ang may kasalanan talaga is yung mga merchants. Dapat double check sa valid IDs and signature lalo na kung malaking halaga ang babayaran. And sa mga card owners, dapat maging doble ingat din.

Kawawa talaga mga clients ng bank, imagine nanakawan kana pahihirapan kapa ng bank to prevent further damages. It should be simplier process, at dito rin papasok ang national ID system natin for faster and more secure transactions. All you have to do is to memorize your bank account number and NID number for verification and authentication of ID, then thats it the bank will immediately block the CC.
