UB40's Robin Campbell says that his relationship between his brother Ali Campbell, and himself and the band started to sour immediately after Ali decided to leave the band in 2008. The brothers are no longer on speaking terms and any chance for a reunion seems to be out the window.

First and foremost; I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds to me that you had a good relationship and memories. Cherish them. There are plenty of brothers out there who are bad and you have no good memories of them. Sometimes, blood is not thicker than water.

I fell out with my brother and we didn’t speak for three years, then out of the blue I had a phone call from my Dad with bad news that he committed suicide and had hung himself at the age of 27 and I was 29.Im 52 now and still messed up about it.Life is too short guys, put your differences aside and reconnect,I’m sure it would be easy enough

God that is awful to read mate I'm so sorry to read of your loss and I totally understand u still being messed up over it. You can't right the wrongs when they are no longer there. Listen to a song called smoke & mirrors by erasure its a beautiful song about the loss of a loved one and not being able to make amends. I don't think you should harbour any guilt your brother may have had some serious mental health problems or issues he couldn't handle and thought that suicide was the only way out and that's a shame . I wish you peace and happiness my friend and I hope you find the inner peace you deserve take care my friend x jason x

Robin Campbell saying he couldn't care if he never saw Ali Campbell again but if you look at earl Faulkner in robins band his brother died in the car accident and earl Faulkner was jailed for it because he was driving the car that caused his brother's death so he know what it's like to lose a brother and he was driving the car that killed him so think before you speak robin Campbell and how the hell do you get over that going to jail and driving the car that killed your brother so once again instead of point scoring with Ali Campbell think about what earl Faulkner must think when your coming out with a comment like that I bet he wishes he never drove the car that killed his brother and him ending up in the jail

Earl Faulkner didn't leave in the 80s he was sent to prison for the death of his brother he was driving the car that killed his brother and when he got out of the jail UB40 original band members took him back into the fold very sad time as his brother died and he went to jail and has had to live with that fact he was driving the car that killed his brother

As someone who’s has followed UB40 since 1980, after that memorising performance at Top Rank, to the last performance in Mosley, Aug 2023. I can only say the heart and soul still remains in there music to this day. Duncan brings something new, his silky voice is a brilliant, enhancement, Loved hearing songs from your new album. Amazing!! Some of the comments really surprising siblings fallout all the time even royalty! Love Tee❤

We shall never know. But when a son does not turn up to his parents funeral because of a rift that tells you the whole story. Late onset of midlife crisis. New wife and all is probably the source of the problem.

Yeah exactly, I mean some people have said maybe Robin was making up these things that Ali supposed to have said about them, but I really don’t think a grown man would sit infront of a camera and say “my brother didn’t turn up to our parents funeral” when in actual fact he did, I highly doubt he would lie about something like that. That’s what makes you think he’s telling the truth

Next thing I got was a phone call saying he had died of cancer... and he didn't even want me to be at his death bed as his mate told me afterwards he didn't want me there... just make up and get on with life. One of the first concerts I went to was when ub40 played in Wembley Arena in 84.. I would literally be at the front of the queue for tickets.

Hey ROBIN I know it’s so hard to drain, but remember this, doesn’t matter if you get hit so hardly or the rest of the band there are two single words more powerful than whatever hardest feelings are you going through that’s LOVE and FORGIVENESS we don’t have the right to judge but the Almaty at the end you know what you’ve done and the greatest guys of the band and that’s what make us feel determined and stronger. I also like to add that we are humans and we have the right to make mistakes but more value is knowing that we did it and be humble. I heard you guys since I had like 10 years I turned into 44 this year the best reggae band ever with or without ALI. I respect him as a musician and singer but the real soul remain in the band even though with the pass of KING ASTRO AND KING BRIAN. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS. Keep on going UB 40 style never will be even or matched. I’m from VENEZUELA 🇻🇪 a huge fan from you always 😎🙋🏻‍♂️👍

I can relate to this. I just feel that when someone you thought was a good brother goes behind your back and colludes with everybody that you have a problem with, it's time to move on. You can never trust that person again. To make matters worse, malicious lies are made up to cover up the betrayal. Let it rest.

Ali in my humble opinion will forever be the voice of UB40….but, in this interview you can feel the genuineness and sense the truth whenever Robin speaks about Ali’s fallout with the band. I think Robin is spot on, Ali is likely bitter because the reality is, he is expendable. I’ve been to all UB40 (w/ Ali) concerts they performed in Hawai’i. They put on a phenomenal performance and you left the concert feeling alive and on cloud nine. I’ve also been to an Ali & Astro concert. Although Ali didn’t disappoint, I came away feeling that I just attended an ok concert.

Ali is the best singer of UB40. Although you probably think the Ali and Astro show you left was "okay" because that band just isn't UB40. They sound nothing like UB40. Both UB40s have put out albums. I have to say, For the Many sounds like a UB40 album. And Real Labour of Love doesnt. I guess you can't just round up a bunch of random people and call it UB40.
