I have a question.. This housing is designated for students of the University of British Columbia... This means that it is affiliated with the University of British Columbia... Or is it housing outside the university that has nothing to do with the university?

If you live in a dorm with a kitchenette, is there a dining hall in your residence also? Cooking all 3 meals each day would be very time consuming so it's nice to get some ready made food in a dining hall also. Can students who live in a dorm with a kitchenette also purchase a meal plan?

There are no dining halls in upper year residences, only in first year res. However, there are food options around each res like mercante, harvest, tims and so on. As for the meal plan, anyone can get it but more so are used for first years who don’t have kitchens.

Hello! I am a student who is maybe transferring to UBC this fall! I would be a 2nd year. Where do you think is best to live? I understand you don’t really get to choose…. I haven’t applied yet so I assume I will be on the waitlist.

Personally, I love ponderosa since it's close to my faculty building, but exchange residence and the new pacific building are really good options too!

i am also gonna be living at cedar house this winter and on the 14th floor. do you know if there is a way to know whether my room will face the mountains or no? my room number is an even number.

hello! there was no waitlist for my application as I got in through lottery based for winter housing. I applied as soon as applications opened up :) hope this helps

I would say this is the worest kitchen layout I've ever seen (No dinning area; kitchen is at the same row with study area...). Sorry UBC.
