+Raj Raj You are "SO RIGHT" Raj Raj. Uber 'customers expect you to sit in their driveway for 15 minutes while they are still putzing around in their house getting ready. The Uber app plainly tells them [on their end] the arrival time of the car. Yet they still putz around like you are a “paid limo driver” or something keeping you waiting for a mere $0.15 per minute while you're waiting. And if that is not bad enough, Uber encourages no tipping from customers. This really sucks. Especially since Uber has dropped their rates down to $0.90 per mile now. They get 20% of the $0.90 per mile which equates to $0.72 per mile for the driver [before taxes, gas etc]. Now, deduct taxes (because you’re a 1099 independent contractor) and all of your gasoline, vehicle maintenance, tires and more etc. and what do you end up with? ZERO “0” !!

+Raj Raj Having bottled water and phone chargers is a bonus, but, for me, not necessary, for me to give an Uber driver a 5-star rating. A driver who drives safely and is able to get me from point A to point B, and knows where he or she is going, is more likely to get a 5-star rating from me than someone who speeds or otherwise drives very dangerously. Probably only 3 or 4 Uber drivers ever have driven so unsafely, or didn't know where they were going, that I gave them less than 5-star ratings. I simply wish there were more passengers and drivers like me, who reward Uber drivers for safe driving and having a sense of direction.

Yeah I had 4 college students get in my brand new car,I then heard beers getting cracked open, they were verbally assaulting and vulgar, making out,etc. example one girl said "I can't believe I'm going to f#$k this guy and I don't know his name" I was worried they would trash the car and spill beer if I kicked them out, the one jackass kept repeating my name over and over saying are you unreal jim? some how they all thought this was hilarious. all that for 10 dollars gross pay. if I could have given 0 stars I would have. I have also discontinued with giving waters and gum, I've never I've been tipped for these things,uber anymore is just sooo cheap I can't make ends meet, trying lyft this week to see if it works better. uber better make some changes soon such as adding tip option to app, increasing price per mile from .90 cents to 1.50, split the safe driver fee because I am the safe driver after all, increase minimum fare from 4 to 7 or 8 dollars, and cancellations need to be increased, uber also should pay .25 cents a mile while I am enroute to my pickup, many times I drive five miles then they cancel. I would love to see some of this addressed.

***** yeah pretty much, lots of issues with uber. I got my statistics. I gave 98 rides since september and took home 350 dollars, that's not counting what I pay for insurance, gas, and cost of water plus my time. Really disappointed with them.

***** customers cancel on me all the time. I'll drive half way to get them then they cancel. Yeah uber says I million but I've heard issues where they bail out through some loop hole and the drivers insurance is now responsible, but when the drivers insurance company find out they had the uber app on they don't cover the accident. Not sure if it's true but I read that in a couple different places. They need to change something,I won't go back on the road until they raise the rates and clear the insurance questions

DashCamAndy I believe all state or state farm covers ride sharing. my father and I both switched cause they covered the passengers, my vehilce,myself and any,other vehicle even if I wasn't at fault they would pay upfront for the riders medical expenses and go after the other insurance companies.

youngsil11: That wasn't even the issue. Uber controls EVERYTHING. They can accuse you of anything they want, and you have no recourse against them even if what they accuse you of is totally made up. There's no way to contact them except if there is a specific problem with a specific fare, or if they have contacted you. You cannot issue a random communication with them. They simply wanted him off the air, and, it didn't matter if he was making them look good OR bad. Uber is just trying to exist and lay low because, one day, they are just going to up and vanish with everyone's money.

firefly311: Not in Oklahoma, the state that he lives in. as long as one of the parties knew of the recording being made, it was totally legal. He was one of the parties, and he had knowledge, so it satisfied the law. He even went above and beyond to blur out the faces and any identifying parts of the video. The REAL problem is that Uber doesn't want there to be any actual evidence of how they do business, and especially how they screw over both, their drivers and their riders. They ALSO don't want there to be any proof that THEY ARE COLLECTING the money from the Riders (see below). They are walking on very thin ice, and are very closed to being put out of business by so many cities around the world because of their bad business practices, and their lies.. For example, in France, they have legally claimed that they are NOT A TAXI SERVICE. They are just a social app. It's not their business if people on their 'social app' work out arrangements to get rides from other users on the app. To back this up, ask any Uber driver to show you their year end income statement. It shows that the DRIVERS themselves have collected the entire fares from the riders as income, and Uber doesn't collect anything. Then, the DRIVERS pay Uber fees and they also pay other taxes and fees. So, the Drivers are left looking like they are collecting everyone's money, NOT UBER. So, the day that Uber finally takes all of their money and decides to run, all the current drivers will be left holding the bag and will be liable for anything not paid and any services not rendered.

+keving52002 Yes, I use a GoPro Hero 3+ Black with a 64GB card. It faces the road, and records audio. I have it on a continuous loop, so I always start the video when I turn on the Uber app, and stop it when I get home. It does the rest for me.

In Oklahoma it is legal to video tape someone as long as one of the parties knows it is occurring. He's also in the videos and knows he's taping, so it's legal in Oklahoma. He also said he was blurring out the faces anyway even though it wasn't necessary under the law. Uber just makes up their own rules on the fly whenever they want to, and they also make false accusations against drivers whenever they want to, and there's nothing you can do about it since they control every aspect of the business. This is also part of the reason they are worried about such evidence, my last comment also makes it very clear that drivers are not really 'independent contractors'. Uber is just avoiding paying employment taxes for them is all.

That is 100% not true. Most states don't require any notice as they are single party consent states. Some states are 2 party consent which means even a small notice on the window would most likely not hold water in court as you need their permission to record. It really depends on the state.

They reinstated me when their legal team and mine proved that I was in the right in my state. How 'bout that?
