In this UBOAT episode we learn that one of our fellow UBOAT's has tragically been sunk and aboard is the ever top secret Enigma Machine!.....time is of the essence as we rush to their last known location and try to save the Enigma Machine before it lands into the hands of the allies.
UBOAT is a WW2 submarine simulator game where you are a captain of a UBOAT. As the captain it will be up to you to ensure that you have all the necessary supplies for your UBOAT and be able to manage your crew. You will be faced with very tough challenges and even tougher decisions that you will have to make on the fly.
The UBOAT campaign takes place between 1939 - 1945 and will see you patrolling all over the Atlantic in hunt for lone ships and large convoys. After spotting your target you will have the challenge on manually imputing all the proper information before finally firing your torpedo and watching as you send thousands of tons worth of shipping to the bottom of the ocean. Did I mention that should you not want to use a torpedo to sink a ship, you have the mighty 88 mm deck gun!
Accept mission and be rewarded through a leveling system in game that allows you to upgrade your officers and give them special abilities that will help you in your future campaigns. Completing missions will also reward you with currency that you can use to upgrade your UBOAT and make it even more difficult for the enemy to discover you and better yet...sink you.
Buy equipment for you crew, gather information to acquire new specialized torpedo's, and send your officers on missions to discover new and special tasks through the world map.
This is your boat and you get to command it however you like. Happy hunting!

Glad to see your crew is still alive, I started this campaign a while ago and have been pretty fortunate, almost to the end of the war at this point.

Enigma machies were commercially available before WW2 across Europe. What was needed by the Allies was the code books with the keys and rotor settings which permitted rapid deciphering. The Enigma on its own was not a lot of use. Bletchly had several of them. The German Navy version had 4 rotors rather than three that the standard version. If the sub sank the code boosk would be gone. The paper they were on would have disintegrated in water. No one needed to recover the enigma.

Without having read all posts here, saving the crewman from the downed sub gives you an officer that, if excess, can be used for HQ projects, and as needed, a replacement officer should the need arise.

Something I (think) found out by pure combat testing is that torpedoes do more damage the lower they are, or i've ran into quite the streak of coincidences. For the past few merchant ships i've sunk, i've set the torpedoes to impact fuse and about 2/3 down the way of how deep the ship is. For example, one of the empire ships has a draft/draught of 8.98 meters so I set my torpedo to 5.5 meters and with just 1 I was able to break it in half. Might want to try it!

I think to keep any injured individual from succumbing to their injuries you need to almost immediately assign crew and maintain crew on the task of First Aid. And then obviously the rate of success depends time spent on that task and skill level. I believe the mechanism follows the same logic as repairs in the game (Essentially the amount of people time the skill level equals the amount of points they can restore to the health each time period. But at the same time there is a cycle in which a certain amount of base health points expire every hour. Once they hit zero they are dead.)

God I remember this mission. Idk if its linked to time but when I got to the sub there was a destroyer parked right on top of it almost like they were sending down their own diver. I sunk it and got the enigma but then a hunter killer group came from the noth and chased me all the way past scottland. I managed to stay alive by hugging the coast so they couldnt depth charge me. Very stressful mission. Mannaged to kill one of the destroyers following me with a snapshot from the rear tube. Glad to see U48 is still kicking ❤️

Oh I bet that was a heart stopper seeing that destroyer. Was it during day light? Because I couldn't see my hand in front of my face during the night lol

@@crazedjester It was broad daylight with I wanna say 4 destroyers. I was at periscope depth for the majority of it since its so shallow. After i wanna say an hour or two of running 3 of them gave up but that last one was determined. Chased me to scappa flow and I know that that point i had to do something about it because my oxygen was low and i didn't have the snorkel. So after so cheeky evading i got him right behind me and just set the torpedoe to max speed and fired. One of my proudest moments.

In the middle of this mission. Managed to save the doctor/radio man by having an officer grab a first aid kit from the galley and then use it on the injured sailor. Been roaming the North Sea after with a second radio man since which is nice. I am hoping I get to keep him as an extra officer once I’m back in port but not till I’m out of torpedos.

I may have gotten lucky when doing this as I had a Destroyer and corvette at the location but both were literally sitting ducks and 2 easy sinking's. Pity you were unable to save the Dr as he actually becomes an officer for you. You can select any Radio/Sonar officer give them a med kit from the storage and they will give any wounded medical help.

Nice video really enjoying the series . I want to ask : what mode are you using that enhances so good the map view? The light red is just fine but most of all how clearly appear the coordinates .

Yeah when you upgrade the conning tower it adds 2 13mm guns

I believe he is talking about the movie The Imitation Game. It was absolutely fantastic and it tells the story of Alan Turing. Amazing individual who quite possibly saved the allies from total destruction by being able to decipher the Enigma Machine.
