UBOAT is a WW2 submarine simulator game where you are a captain of a UBOAT. As the captain it will be up to you to ensure that you have all the necessary supplies for your UBOAT and be able to manage your crew. You will be faced with very tough challenges and even tougher decisions that you will have to make on the fly.
The UBOAT campaign takes place between 1939 - 1945 and will see you patrolling all over the Atlantic in hunt for lone ships and large convoys. After spotting your target you will have the challenge on manually imputing all the proper information before finally firing your torpedo and watching as you send thousands of tons worth of shipping to the bottom of the ocean. Did I mention that should you not want to use a torpedo to sink a ship, you have the mighty 88 mm deck gun!
Accept mission and be rewarded through a leveling system in game that allows you to upgrade your officers and give them special abilities that will help you in your future campaigns. Completing missions will also reward you with currency that you can use to upgrade your UBOAT and make it even more difficult for the enemy to discover you and better yet...sink you.
Buy equipment for you crew, gather information to acquire new specialized torpedo's, and send your officers on missions to discover new and special tasks through the world map.
This is your boat and you get to command it however you like. Happy hunting!

Not fully through the video yet but I figured I should let you know you can use the 20 mil on your deck to sink U-boats if you find them in that situation. Realistically you shouldn't be able to and the torpedo was the right call but for some reason in the game you're able to makes it so you don't have to use a torpedo.

Loving the series. Some interesting bugs in the beta version. I got this rescue the other day and then BDU sent me to the other side of the UK to find AA guns. No fuel to return and no refuelling doh

Was watching the video while doing something else, went wtf when i heard the torp given the mission xD I usually spend 5 AP bullets top since they are litteraly made from paper, but i guess it works for the RP :D

Very nice video and very good shot on that tanker, it's always a good feeling when you come across them and sink them! Advice time, you have an AA gun on your boat, and while it is no proper deck gun, it can still sink lone merchant ships if they do not surrender. You'll spend a little more time, but save a torpedo which is great because you can only carry so many. Also focus on getting all 3 tonnage objectives to get the next boat, it'll be a much needed upgrade. You'll be able to stay out longer, you've got more fuel. Happy hunting, I hope the next episode will be soon!

It wouldn't pen the pressure hull on that dead U boat, but just making a few holes in the ballast tanks would probably do, as for sinking a merchant ship, not sure that'd work unless it was a very small ship, or maybe a fishing boat. It's certainly not going to sink it before they radio in your position.

Yes, works great for lonely ships at sea, you have plenty of time to gun them down. To add to this, in my last playthrough on the beta, i'm finding that just surfacing close enough to a cargo is OP, allows you to "communicate your intent to sink the ship", they abandon ship at least 50% time. If you have the mechanic perk it takes litteraly 2 min to sink a fearful cargo for 0 ammo :D

You don't need to waste a torp on the U-boat, the machinegun will sink it no problem.

just for next time it is possible to sink a type 7 uboat with your 20mm anti air gun. this could save you a torpedo which are defiantly not abundant in a type 2

Can you find a better way to scan with the binoculars or periscope? It is so jerky when you use the mouse. Something constant speed would be better.

With the crew not running around as they should, i have noticed 2 things since the update. I torpedoed a freighter and noticed upon the impact, a crew member standing on the bridge suddenly fell down after the explosion. I also dont see crews sweeping the decks while the ship is ablaze

Your last two shots were in the rear of the boat. Is that an aiming function or a speed issue?

the overall calculation of the shot. Angle, speed of the boat and so on. I am no where near that good to actually calculate where I precisely want my shot to hit on a shit....although I wish I could do that haha

I just started playing UBOAT, found your great tutorial for beginners (convoy attack guide), which helps a lot... but I got into a situation... How do you deal with enemy submarines? If they are submerged... or even on the surface... I just can't spot/see them... how do you identify them in the first place... The one I found had sent a torpedo past me... and it was continuously on the move and changing direction... The one in the video above is an easy target to destroy obviously... but what to do when there's an enemy sub?

I can honestly say I have never run across an enemy submarine in this game. Didn't even know they were in here. Where did you come up against one?

@@crazedjester This may sound a bit silly, but yesterday I saw a pair of submarines zoom past me and take out the ship I was planning to torpedo... and then I realized... probably the submarine was NOT an enemy submarine, and the torpedo that I saw going past me (and missed me, after which I tailed out of there) was not aimed at me, but a ship ahead of me as well. Learning this bit by bit with very limited information I manage to scrape from forums and youtube videos. :D I played Cold Waters a long time ago and there you had to face submarines as well... and since the 'ship recognition booklet' has a submarine listed as well, I thought it must have been an enemy. So... if there's no enemy submarines in this game (and that must be the case if you never encountered one), my question is answered at the same time! - Thanks for your reply!
