I have repaired many led projectors. This one has a heat and cooling issue. The power supply does get quite warm even with the fan because it does not circulate cool air directly on it. It is more passive. The Led gets most all of it. I have seen control boards fail due to a person connecting a high current drain device to the usb ports. If your charge cables are beat up then you increase the risk of damaging the board. This applies to differing usb power standards also. I will say this, if you don't know what you are doing and are careful then don't take something apart. I do know exactly why the hybrid power supply fails, the problem is sourcing components. I will say for those that think they can mod it for a bigger screen, it won't happen because the cpu and controller are specific built for what it has. But be warned this projector is not meant for long periods of use. More heat for longer equals more damage.

+batforjustice : We are developing a new projector, very quite, noisy much lower than UC40, you can not hear any noise if beyond 1 meter, support AC3, Camera Tripod...... Need wait 2 weeks.

At least the lens "pull-apart" was quite illustrative. I have a Dugee 68-25 projector whose focus lens ring is not bringing lens in or out, so there's no focus when you position projector at 25ft.

@@EddyLieu Do you mean Your projector is "Fixed focus" or mine? Because I saw you rotate the focus ring on yours., and on mine, the focus ring also turns (not fixed focus). After I opened it up, I found the problem with mine was, the lens was hit or someone dropped projector and the focus ring got jammed bcuz threads fell off turning track, so the focus ring could not turn. I forced turned it loose, then screwed it back on properly, now focus ring turns. Also, the 4 ring turning guide plastic tabs had been broken off. I only found 2 tabs inside project loose. I then thrilled two tiny 1/6" holes on the other spots and inserted 2 tiny same diameter as tab screws, glued the two I did find, and let dry. Used a Q-tip to spread a drop of grease oil on focus ring tracks and tested it. The turning ring worked great at moving lens in and out for focus. I reassembled projector.

THE MOST IMPORTANT IT WAS MUST THAT WAS THE PROJECTION LED REMOVAL, IF OBSERVED The LED is ARRESTED FOR BOLTS FOUR AND EVEN REMOVING THE 4 BOLTS IT HAS 2 3 WIRES SOLDIERS IN IT, AND STILL IN IT FOR UP BACK HAS PASTA THERMAL TO ENHANCE GRIP THE SINK. I just dont get why they dont use 2k or 4k phone screens for these things. For a cool Full HD or 4K Projection. That should be possible. Its just build like the DIY Projectors 10 Years ago. Light goes through a LCD panel and a fresnellens over a mirror in the optics and on the wall. (Thats the whole Magic). So it should work to take a 2k screen instead of a 800x600 one. Yes it would be cost more then 70 Euro but a HD Phone screen costs around 60-70 Euro. So lets double the Price for real Full HD. Maybe we can mod this thing.

Eddy Lieu But not a 2k display. it only costs about 40 $ . We use them in our cellphones now. And this projector only lits a 5" Display with a 50w led instead of a Backlight. Thats how this cheap projector works. So take away the cheap display (the 800x480 one costs 11$ btw.) and put a HD phone display and a controler and you have a full hd one. ;-)

Ilya Novoselov ehhhm Nope... The Heat of a led goes backwards into the Heatsink and vent. In front of an led its not more than 30-35 degrees celsius. So it wouldnt "melt" at all. I build an Full HD Projector 10 Years ago out of an normal 21" LCD Monitor but it was HUGE! and the Lamp was 300 Watts. Im guessing more, that they dont have the right controlers to get a picture on the phone displays because they use a different controler standard and Mainboard. I think thats the main problem they dont do it (yet).

Have a question if anybody can answer, I have this projector but a redish blob started appearing, when I opened it I realize the "Polarizer Glass" was slightly burnt, is a 4 inch piece of glass or acrylic and I found the replacement on aliexpress but I was wondering if I could just use a regular glass of the same size and polarize it, is there anything really heat resistant about an original piece or a regular glass would do?

esto lo encontre por ahy solucion al problema mini se apaga y enciende solo: Conclusión la fuente de alimentación estaba estropeada y no daba suficiente potencia para alimentar el led de proyección. Como me temía esto ya le a pasado a mas de uno, y existe repuesto de la fuente de alimentación en aliexpress por 13€ es.aliexpress.com/item/Original-UNIC-UC40-Power-board-accessories-For-UC40-Projector/32393578961.html?s=p Como he dicho antes, soy un manitas en la electrónica y he hecho un apaño para poder disfrutar del proyector sin gastarme nada hasta que decida si compro la fuente de alimentación. La fuente de alimentación del proyector entrega 19V para alimentar al led , y 12V para alimentar al resto de la electrónica del proyector. El mayor consumo del aparato es para el led, el resto consume unos 250mA a 12V. Como tengo alimentadores de portatiles que funcionan con 19V, he alimentado el led de proyección con dicha tensión, comprobando que funcionaba perfectamente. Para alimentar al resto de los circuitos del proyector, he utilizado un regulador 7812 que nos proporciona 12V y 1000mA. He colocado un pequeño disipador al 7812 para que no se estropee. Debido a que en cuanto alimento el proyector se enciende el led de proyección pero no el ventilador, he tenido que alimentar directamente el ventilador desde los 12V. Cerrado el proyector y probado, funciona perfectamente, esperemos que no se rompan mas cosas. Un saludo. Juan Galaz

+Amit Choudhary Its not "crap". Its what you get for you money. This thing only costs around 70 Euro. And it gives you a 2-3 Meter Picture on the wall in a dark room. That okay for the price. Its not for daylight use, that should be clear. But in a cinema its dark too. And you can mod these things.
