On the floor you can see 2 box like equipment and you can slightly see the text on the screen (white letters with blue background). This is then reflected on the transparent panels from which Tun M is reading... that's why he is looking left and right during his speech. This is a very old technology and is regularly used during high level speeches. In Malaysia this was introduced during one of the UMNO General Assemblies when Tun M was the prime minister during the late 90s.

I wonder how an individual age 94 can read script/ text from transparent panels which are more than 10 metres far from the rostrum (not podium) he's standing, giving very smooth speech facing the audience left and right for almost half an hour (as he used to do, always). His eyesight is very sharp, I believed ? I also wonder why other leaders don't use this very old technology when giving their speeches. If someone giving speech with a prepared text/ script in front of him/ her, they will focus on one side and will not risk themselves by looking left and right at the audience while reading the prepared script/ text. Nobody has the ability to focus reading the prepared script at few transparent panels in front of him/ her by looking left and right of the audience.... what more an old man aged 94.

@@nazuri101, yes, the are two glass panels (for script/ text) at the bottom in front of the rostrum whereTun Dr M is standing, but the way Dr M keep moving his head left n right, up n down 'every 2 seconds' looking/ speaking to the audience, I don't think he's referring to any form of text/ script located at wherever it is in side the Assembly Hall. Yes, newscaster at TV station always use this technology when they are on air. Even any place in the world using the same technology (text script) on the glass panels when they're giving speech. But not for Dr M, I believed. Try to focus the way he giving this speech, the head/ face movement left n right every 2 seconds, the eye side, the eye contact with the audience.... then you can see the difference.
