Gina Moses, M.Ed., provides an in-depth look into the field of osteopathic medicine. She addresses the nuances of osteopathic medical education and how that differs from allopathic medicine. Moses also highlights the growing need for medical practitioners in the United States and how physicians trained in osteopathic medicine are helping to ease the shortage of health care professionals as the number of students graduating from these institutions has risen dramatically during the past decade. I like that Gina Moses, M.Ed gives a real look at becoming a D.O. and resource. I am an Army medic who was treated and trained by a D.O. for a short time. I loved the style of training over physical therapy but as an older nontraditional student I have to really think about the time involved. I wonder how osteopathic medicine will be affected when the Affordable Care Act goes away.

I’ve always used D.O.s long ago I hurt my neck and was getting migraines. I first went to an M.D. he put me on muscle relaxers after they didn’t work pain meds. Did not help, I then thought of a D.O. I went to as a kid that was still practicing. He told to lay down he gave me a adjustment and 1 day later no pain. The migraines never returned and that was 42yrs ago. Not putting down M.D.’ but in my case the D.O. really saved me 👍

The emphasis on consider the patient as WHOLE! Again and again is like saying i am selling a shit free pasta. There is not shit in normal pasta but saying your pasta is shit free makes you think others sell shit! Lol.

DO school is a good path for those that are actually interested in the philosophy of osteopathy. Problem is that too many kids are doing the DO degree because they were unable to gain acceptance into a MD school. DOs and this speaker are constantly trying to play off that they are equivalent to MDs when the programs and types of students arent equivalent Osteopathy shares its roots with chiropractic medicine.

Palmer went to the first osteopathic school so they don’t share the same root. chiro would be more of a shoot off of said root. I wouldn’t call chiropractic work an offshoot of osteopathic work though that’s not really a fair assessment either.

No problem in that bitch? Why is the MD programs so fucking overselective? They need to tone down what they accept and what they don't!... there is no issue to why students who don't get accepted into MD get accepted into DO but still practice as MDs... point is no reason to write everyone off!!! You think that ?!!! It is corrupt how strict getting into an MD program is! Understand that that is corrupt in itself!

DO=MD so how aren't they equivalent? Students at MD schools and DO schools are of comparable caliber from what I see. Programs are equivalent and lead to the same residency training. I don't really see a difference between DO schools and any other lower tier MD school. Graduating from either results in the same product and both are respectable. I do notice bruceylee that you do troll these DO sites...
