How he just carried on talking with those knobs heckling all the way though his speech is the reason why he is, in my opinion the best statesman that I’ve ever known 🇬🇧. If I had just ten percent of his,vocabulary , I’d never stop talking 🤪🤪.

I attended this speech. (I was a freshman at the time.) I remember the campus president Bob Elias's reference to the hecklers as "termites" in his introduction, and Abba Eban's reference to them as "the lunatic fringe". Brings back old memories.

@@agentanderson3976 I'm not sure if UCLA would let an Israeli foreign minister or ambassador to the UN have a public forum on their campus these days. The anti-Israel sentiment in UCLA is now much more widespread.

Genius - all the answers are in this speech. Amazing this was Israel’s stance 52 years ago and still people don’t understand. “Ceasefire, negotiation, agreement, peace, establishment of agreed boundaries, withdrawal of forces to agreed boundaries, establishment of an open frontier in which the old traditions of Arab Jewish cooperation can be renewed”
