Nowadays gastrointestine doctors don't know this technics, they only prescribe PPI that doesn't help acid reflux, doctors need to go back and study these diaphragm breathing which helps. And doctors don't even know what kind of healthy nutritional foods to eat too. They need to go back study. Besides at this pandemic year doctors takes 3 to 4 months to follow up your clinic visit. They are scared, And they don't do follow up until 4 months. Anybody have health problems need to learn how to survive themselves, because it takes 4 months in order to see a doctor. Please professors from UC university's you need to teach them breathing technics and nutrional nutrition before becoming a doctor, Why become a doctor if they don't know this things.

My gym - the best in the city - and Personal Trainer there - a very competent and qualified young sportswoman - had me started with diaphragmatic (belly) breathing. However, my PT soon told me that, I should just have core and diaphragm activation and do rib cage expansion breathing. Part of this comes from my protruded (not out of local standard deviation, as I am fairly active) belly of a 55-year-old Indian. I am a bit confused about which one is good for me.

It seems wiser to listen to advice from her (Suzanne Smith, MSN, NFZ CMT-FZ nurse practitioner in the Integrative Digestive Health and Wellness Program in the UCLA Melvin and Bren Simon Digestive Diseases Center) over a personal trainer... Unless she has remarkable qualifications that you simply didn't mention.

Can anyone help? I go through breathing issues all the time. My rhinitus affects my talking and my back is out of alignment and I have 2 bulging discs, one in my neck and one in my lower back (from 25 years ago.) When I try the diaphragm breathing I find that I think about it all day and it becomes mechanical. Also why does it help when I stick my stomach out and try to breath and then a couple days later that doesn't work anymore?

As long as your getting Oxygen in you and releasing the carbon dioxide yes go esp if nose is stuffy but readon they choose up nose is the oxygen goes to your brain faster. Up you mouth is great for chest pressure. I believe all good breathing techniques are good. Take it from a person who forgets to breath and paniced : (( need that oxygen

Nickee Marles:How have youi been breeathing? I was prescribed 15 mins. a day, in one go. My problems are extra many and bad, so maybe you need less. But longer logically gives your body clear , definite and reliable gift of the medicine it is. Oh, she recommends 10-15 mins. 2 a day! I have never yet managed to do it alone, but want to now, becausae I'll die if I don't get myself out of the burnout hole. If more viewers have difficulties doing it alone, we could form a practice or support group here. Agreeing on a day and time, f i 1 a week on zoom?! Or coming here or there 1 a week and telling each other how we have managed each day, getting celebtate success. Let me know. With warm regards!

Lovely video, but there is a fundamental error in the anatomical diagram of the diaphragm you have shown. From what I know, the lower end of the diaphragm is pinned to the lower edge of the rib cage. It doesn't extend all the way down to the abdomen, almost behind the navel, as your diagram shows. Please correct this if you read this comment. Otherwise, it spreads false knowledge.

But her tone of voice sounds fake lol that's what happened when your instructed by people who don't bend the rules or talk like average people . Like i would not have my worker talk in that tone like it sounds fake . I just saw video of another guy from "fit mind" and he was talking differently . By the way I don't think she's fake since I don't know her .
