Ueno Toshogu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Ueno Park, Tokyo, Japan. It was built in 1627 to enshrine the deified spirit of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate.
The shrine is known for its elaborate architecture and decorative art, which feature intricate carvings, gold leaf, and vibrant colors. The main gate, or torii, is made of bronze and stands at over 17 meters tall, making it one of the largest in Japan. The shrine's main hall, or honden, is also impressive, with ornate decorations and a gilded ceiling.
