it's mostly because this is kinda slowed down as well as real fights are unpredictable. and you can only get these in at certain points that almost never chain together in this order.

Hand to hand... my dad survived Vietnam, and his standing philosophy was to never let the enemy get withing 100 yards of him. Granted, this is easier accomplished if you're guarding a base than stomping through the dense jungle overgrowth. His hand to hand training saved his life one night when his position was overrun and his rifle had a critical failure rendering it useless, so you do still need to know hand to hand.

Technique and plan are two different things.
@Cipher_Paul
@Cipher_Paul 4 жыл бұрын
It's not a plan 😂 If you think the thing is to repeat what you see in the video then you clearly never had a fight. Martial Art is only a tool, and for it to be effective you have to already know how to use it (already know how to fight due to experience) and you have to know the situation and the conditions in which you will use it (how a fight occurs and the different factors it brings with it like stress, panic and surprise). So, it's not about planning but about having experience, skills and technique. If you think it's about planning then you don't understand anything about fighting. Videos on KZfaq are about “How to deal with this or that?” well, don't let your opponent put you in that position/situation in the first place because that's just completely dumb. If your opponent wants to choke you and you see it, you will certainly find a way to counter it without needing to plan. You deal with what is needed in the present situation instead of thinking about the future and what will happen. I mean, you can, but that will just be a waste of time, energy and focus that might be precious for survival. Fighting isn't about planning but about doing your best, optimizing your technique and being able to improvize in any given situation when needed. I mean, that's what soldiers are taught.

yes if somebody will attack you from that perticular angle in that perticular way than it will work if executed timely but thats my problem with techniques and drills. they subtract the unpredictability factor from the fight and timing and many other unknow factors. sparring is a must. use a rubber or a blunt or wodden knife to sparr and apply in the unpredictable environment.

The core influence is Filipino arnis-eskrima-arnis/indonesian silat, but just like how i've realized in my training, they are now just focusing on "movement". For instance, the throw they do when their gun is grabbed is a derivative technique from judo/jiu-jitsu. They simply saw a "movement" and modified it for their training. It is pretty cool what you can do when you stop seeing arts/styles and just see movement. That is why I love "kali" because it comes from two words. "Kali" = Kamut (body or hand) & Lihuk (Motion). Combine the words and they actually mean "Body & hand motion". In my opinion this is what is necessary in doing "combatives" rather than focusing on "arts" in order to have a higher chance of survival. When you train long enough you just start seeing techniques that you like and find effective and then just incorporate them to make you better regardless of their background. A mix as "mac2flip" has said.

Doesn't matter which system of self defense is. At high lvl, doesn't matter remember the technique. If u know the anatomy of the human body, techniques are generated automatically. Can be all: krav, aikido, kapap, hapkido, escrima-kali, jujitsu. Don't focus on the name of the art and the moltitudine of techniques each one has. Study anatomy of human body in krav or anyone of them and u learn all them.

This isn't what it's like to actually fight in close quarters. The knife fight was especially unrealistic.

Soul Purpose Gaming they never said at any point in this video that actual fights are like this. It’s a demonstration and more importantly it’s just them marketing their brand.

First rule of knife fighting is that you will be cut, but don't get cut anywhere important.

Strongly disagree. These fine motor skills go out thr window in real life. I've been training since I was 15, and I'm now 31, and the brain just isn't capable of being this precise when flooded with adrenaline.

@@CB-hw7iu so have I. That's not what I'm talking about. I've won multiple grappling tournaments, and all 3 of my mma bouts. I'm saying that this knife fighting small precise movements aren't reliable. Grappling is much easier than catching wrist and stick attacks.

True, but let me explain something for you kid, different trainings with different tools and arms and different conditions and different areas will oblige your body to adapt and fight smarter
