Between this set (that game 4 bruh) and the ones against Tarik and Tea, I definitely got glimpses of peak era Leo... he may not be back but he still got some magic left, and I'll be there to watch crazy hype moments like this. Also props to Raflow, guy's improvement has been crazy, he has to be the best Palu right now.

Leo got rolled game 5. Leo playing well against players who arent even top ten isnt a glimpse of the former undisputed best player in the world back in form. If he doesnt place somewhat well in his next tournament he wont even be a top 10 player. It's fine though, I don't think he wants to be the GOAT anymore regardless.

Pandemic is over; “peak” MKLeo is gone. Toward the end a few top players were already starting to go beyond his level. People started going back to more major offline tournaments and his decline started, it isn’t hard to figure out.

Felt like Leo was rusty on Palu MU especially in the first game. He adapted but you can tell in the first one that he died early every stock, while Leo’s signature ability is often having one stock pull a bunch of weight and last longer than it should to wear the opponents mental down so they can’t get in a rhythm. Good match and always good to watch prime Leo

This was an iexciting match despite the SDs and stuff; and the best MkLeo placement in a while, so he has plenty to be happy about. The matchup is interesting. Maybe favors Palu? They are actually kind of similar: spinning nairs, great recoveries, pop-up down-tilts, etc. Byleth has more range on his side-airs, but Palu's are stronger at close range. Palu's nair has much more combo potential than Byleth. Palu's recovery maybe marginally less edgeguardable. Palu's projectiles are faster and more flexible. It's too bad that MkLeo has lost so much confidence in his Aegis, because that is probably a fairly bad matchup for Palu. Sparg0 has played it as recently as GOML in July of this year. Whereas Byleth does a lot of stuff that Palu does but maybe slightly worse, Mythra and Pyra can oppress with speed and knockback, respectively, and generally outrange Palu in the air.
