After their first fight in 2018, Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou went down different paths on the road to the rematch. Miocic became embroiled in a trilogy with Daniel Cormier, while Francis Ngannou overcame a disappointing performance at UFC 226 to put on an incredible streak of finishes. Don't miss Miocic vs Ngannou 2 on Saturday, March 27.

Interesting fact : Stipe, despite being KO'd in ~6 minutes, survived longer against Francis than Francis' previous 4 opponents combined.

Dont forget that Stipe has iron chin...remmember how clean shots receive from Struve and still he standing...how clean shots eat from dc (cheater) in second and third fight and dont fall...and what shots he receive in first round with nganou and survive them (i bet everyone would fall down from fear before he try to hit them), but Stipe fight back like its nothing....i say that Stope lose that fight cos he dont listen his corner (he need just to take distance and more hand movement in first two round and than nganou be tired) he start second round openly and he allow to lose his control over tactic and while he dizzy he try to attack....worst Stipes IQ fight.... p.s. Stipe is the only guy who deserve remach and stop with this stupid debate....they are 1:1 he have every right to chalenge him and UFC accept that fight....than jon jones can fight with winner of that fight....period...but we all know how ufc respect the real goat

Telling Francis Ngannou he will never be champion till he is well and truly retired in his own time is not the words of a humble man. That statement was very disrespectful. I was delighted to see Francis Ngannou knock him the F out IN HIS TIME BEFORE STIPE had time to retire.

@Tijan it’s so for making money when bets are placed. This is good. Betting on the favorite who wins doesn’t make you any money. You have to bet LOTS of money in that scenario. Betting on the underdog is easy. You can bet small amounts and if you lose, it means nothing because it was a small amount. If you win your money increases 2-3X.

The one issue I have with this fight is the weight discrepancy. All respect to Ngannou, its not his fault this is a problem, but he walked into this fight 30 - 40 pounds heavier than Miocic. That is absurd. Imagine Yan fighting Usman. Anyone who has competed knows how significant of an issue this is. Again, its not Ngannous fault, all respect to him, but Miocic was in a different weight class that night.

Now we're at one win a piece for these two legends. Problem is due to Francis' dominance throughout the division, he doesn't have as many hard fought miles in the tank as Stipe. Stipe's the GOAT. Make no mistake about it. But just his three piece with DC alone took something out of his longevity I imagine. I mean his career is built off brutal, hard fought wars with ups and downs plus losing his belt and regaining it which few have ever done at heavyweight. He's 38 and I doubt he'll see gold again. He might have a couple wins left. Possibly a part three with our new champ.
