@rams812 that's why I'm saying Ankalaev shouldn't be fighting anyone except for the belt. Alex likes to be extremely active and October isn't far away after fighting Saturday if Alex wins. I'm also not even sure Ankalaev can get in the country so that may be why he has to wait until Abu Dhabi. Really not sure but many divisions don't have a clear cut number 1 Contender. At least 205 does with Ankalaev after this weekends fight is done. I think the only thing that could throw a wrench in that is if Jiri does win then they will probably do the trilogy but if Alex wins then I think him vs Ankalaev is pretty clear for Abu Dhabi and Islam could also fight on that card against Tsarukyan

I want MVP. I want to bet MVP. But why is no one talking about the grappling of Ian? Kevin took down MVP and nearly chocked him. What is gonna stop Ian?

@@rams812 Good point, but Kevin is actually known to have good bjj. He's submitted a lot of good guys. We don't really know what Ian has. That's what makes the prediction hard. Ian could grapple and have amazing grappling or he could have horrible grappling. Or he won't use it at all. We just don't know. MVP did defend a lot of the grappling and he got up after. I think a grappler does beat MVP, but I'm not sure Ian can do it since his game is striking idk if he has that good of grappling

@rams812 bc Ian can't wrestle and doesn't have anywhere near the strength or BJJ of Kevin Holland.

@rams812 have to remember Holland is a huge guy who is used to dealing with big 185ers, and Kevin Holland is a BJJ black belt w crazy good submissions and those long arms to lock up chokes. I was actually impressed that MVP dealt with that and got back to the feet w Holland having him in the worst possible position. I really think this is a striking fight and Holland hit MVP w some big shots and we have never seen Ian Garry fight any striker the likes of MVP. Ian Garry also won't have a major reach advantage he's used to having. He will be at a close to 6 inch reach disadvantage and Ian Garry constantly drops his right hand and is there to be hit with the left hand. He was getting beat up on in his debut before he came back against a bit of a bum and Kenan Song caught him w a left hand and dropped him and then like an idiot tried to wrestle and gave Ian time to recover. MVP hurts him, and he's just a natural finisher. I'm not saying MVP is going to win and though I don't like Ian Garry, he is very skilled. I just think MVP is very unconventional, impossible to train for bc no one is like him and I think the shots he hit Holland with would KO Ian Garry. Garry was KO'ed in sparring a few times at Kill Cliff, and Holland just has that crazy crazy chin. Ian Garry has a small head and I don't think will be able to take those same shots that Holland did. I could see this going either way but I'm pretty confident that it will be a striking fight.
